Why do Americans have Russia on the side of the anti-Christ? The USA is a more likely a candidate for the state ruled by the anti-Christ.
How long will you guys buy into this Hal Lindsey BS? Lindsey's earlier predictions all assumed that the Cold War would continue indefinitely, and had eschatological significance; he explicitly identified Russia with the apocalyptic figure of Gog.
Hal Lindsey is only one voice and his books are not engraved in stone. Many people believe that 38 might well be in the not distant future. If you don't believe, fine. Just know there are many of us who do and your beliefs aren't engraved in stone either.

All scholars before the crazies in America reinterpreted this through Cold War eyes indicate that this Biblical passage was about events of the era in which it was written.

In the last days, more specifically The Great Tribulation, Israel will stand alone, at least with no other nations supporting them. Jerusalem will be encircled and destroyed. The surviving Israelis will seek protection in the hills of Jordan which is a natural protection for them. That is the time when Christ will return in the Second Coming.
The people who aid the Israelis will be seen in a favorable light by God. What the US will be doing in this time is a question mark. I assume that this nation won't be able to help the Israelis or will be among those nations attacking them. In either case, I think the US is toast.

I don't remember the US being mentioned in the Bible. You would have thought those prophets could have foretold the name of the biggest power to ever be seen on earth.

A great big country with more of his 'chosen' than Israel certainly would have been prophecied by name, instead of using some obtuse symbolism that can be interpreted in a thousand directions.
Personally I think that the chosen in the Bible really mean Christians, and that Revelation already occurred in the 1st century.
