Title: Governor Walker Courageously Works to Save Wisconsin From a Bankrupting 3.6 Billion Dollar Budget Shortfall Amidst the the Thuggery of the Unions

Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker has had an interesting week. Thousands have lay siege to the state capitol in Madison as public union members, often seen carrying violent, threatening signs calling the governor everything from cheap to being Hitler. They are protesting Scott Walker’s budget proposal which would make the state’s union employees pay a small percentage, half of the national average in the private sector, of their health insurance and pension contribution, as well as new limits on collective bargaining rights. Wisconsin teacher protests have led to the school system in several communities to be shut down. Yesterday, the Republican senate was to vote on passage, but a quorum was shine one senator as the entire Democrat delegation of lawmakers fled the capitol building and took a bus to Illinois to avoid their responsibility.

Our Hero, Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker battles with state employee unions and Democrat lawmakers to balance budget.

Like forty-three other U.S. states, Wisconsin has a budget crisis with a deficit shortfall of some $3.6 Billion dollars. Decades of generous union contracts to teachers and other public service unions are bankrupting the state. These contracts, and the state’s budget deficits, are unsustainable. Republican Senate Majority Leader, Scott Fitzgerald from Juneau, WI, said “This is the ultimate showdown, what we’re seeing today.” A battle indeed as Gov. Walker put the state’s National Guard on alert to step in if needed to perform some of the essential duties should union employees launch a prolong worker-strike.

Democrat Senators Jon Erpenbach and Tim Cullen vow not to return to the capitol building until Saturday, which means Friday will see yet another day of union protests. They consider the proposed legislation to be an anti-union bill. Even President Barack Hussein Obama chimed in on Thursday criticizing the budget-cutting measures.

But the simple fact is that the State of Wisconsin is broke. Gov. Walker has said that the alternative, should the bill not pass, would be laying off about 6,000 state workers. Some question just how many of the estimated 25,000 protesters were actually union employees. News reports that many teachers dragged their students to the capitol building under false pretences have emerged. Some of the protesters may even be ‘rent-a-mob’, consisting of people belonging to radical groups like the Socialist Workers Party and ACORN. During some local call-in radio shows, many state employees said they have no problem with paying a bit for their health insurance and pension. They would rather do that than face layoffs.

We shall see if thousands of union protesters continue their siege of the capitol building in Madison, today. Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker won his election in November by a wide margin by promising to put the state’s budget in order. While Republican senators were prepared to vote on the measure yesterday, Democrat lawmakers fled to Illinois shirking their responsibility. The proposed legislation would have the state’s public union employees paying a small percentage of their health insurance and to contribute to their own pensions, at a rate half that of the private sector. Like 43 other state governments, Wisconsin is facing a budget shortfall, with a deficit of some $3.6 Billion dollars. (1 image)

He is about as fair and balanced in his posting as Fox is about showing the news, or Beck is about spin before reason.

I have no respect for him or the Q non-entity.

LOL.

Good one.

Brain posts one article about each story. And he gets the titles right.

There is always leeway in terms of which source to chose, but at least he stays clear of news reposted to blogs and other sites which really wags the dog on a topic or story.

You are consistently and aggressively using any means possible to try to give your spin prominence denied someone who just posts to a thread.

In its Jan. 31 memo to legislators on the condition of the state's budget, the Fiscal Bureau determined that the state will end the year with a balance of $121.4 million.

To the extent that there is an imbalance -- Walker claims there is a $137 million deficit -- it is not because of a drop in revenues or increases in the cost of state employee contracts, benefits or pensions. It is because Walker and his allies pushed through $140 million in new spending for special- interest groups in Janua

I have to note the irony in George W. Bush's most tireless defender posting these sorts of articles.

It’s not the first time a Bush has tried to overthrow the Government.

I would like to see him defend Granddaddy Prescott and six other's attempt to turn their admiration for Nazi Germany into a coup to create a similar government here.

It's really no surprise he goes after unions. There is a consistent admiration of the principle that anything good for corporations and the rich is also good for everyone else.

Which of course is a very fascist way of looking at things, as fascism is a system where the rich and powerful pull the strings of government like it is their puppet.

The Bush crime family is an entity that has long been an enemy of democracy and the U.S. Constitution. There is no way one can say they like this creator of the destruction of the Twin Towers and sending a missile into the Pentagon to create more war much as Nazi Germany used corpses in Polish Army uniforms to create fiction that their attack of that country was a response to aggression.

Criminals like those in the Bush crime family will always have their enablers and apologists, which sadly is a large reason these people are not in prison or feeding the gallows their necks after they answer for their crimes.

And this interlocutor is one of this sort of scoundrel.

What does what Prescott Bush did in 1934 have to do with anything?

Now, I know I’m not going to change the minds of any of the True Believers…those who read all of Reverend Al’s sermons, and say things like, “You know, global warming can mean warmer OR colder, wetter OR drier, cloudier OR sunnier, windier OR calmer, …”. Can I get an ‘amen’??

Everything. It is indicative of how the Bush family operates and thinks. If you want to really understand Smirk's crimes on 9-11 or the theft of the presidential election against Al Gore, one needs to look at history to see that he and his Daddy who illegally invaded Panama and is said to have been a player in the Kennedy assassination are merely chips off the old block.

Those who fail to learn the lessons of history are often doomed to relive it. There is no reason Prescott should of been allowed to be a U.S. Senator, or his son or grandson to be allowed the presidency.

Last time I looked, there was one waiting for 2016, and a couple of younger ones being groomed to eventually run for high office.

Last time I looked I also have not seen any Bush that deserves prosecution and sanction getting their just desserts yet.

Well Stone, an obvious gambit to destroy public employee unions nationally is going to always be spotted as having more to do with the issue than the first state chosen for the opening shot.

You will see this issue enervating the Democratic grass roots and galvanize into action major responses to this particular gambit all across the nation.

This was a foolish power grab by that state's governor, and it is going to fail.

As far as why these particular lawmakers did what they did, I'm not even a Democrat and not going to speak for them. But I will say I approve of what they are doing and support all efforts to stop the end run on trying to gut this sort of union.

I myself have been fired because I reacted to an employers sneering remarks on unions by making sure the bastard know I am a strong supporter if the labor union movement. And I would do it again even knowing the consequences.

I also support the formation of a military union in the United States much like countries like Holland have.

Maybe folks are finally waking up to the fact that the tea party represents at most, 20-30% of the country, not the majority the media would have you believe?

Since January 3, 2011, Republicans have controlled the power of the purse.

And that percentage is a soft statistic. They will lose focus and strengh as their shutting down of the gocvernment backlashes on them.

Which is why the Democrats and President Obama are not blinking at their foolish threats and ignorant game.
