Youve probably heard about Scott Walkers evil cuts to public-sector workers, the fact that his budget is going to cost them more for their benefits and going to cause them to contribute more toward their retirement and, in essence, bring them into parity with the private sector.
In fact, you may have even been led to believe that the tens of thousands of marchers and the teachers union members who called in sick so they could protest at the statehouse are doing so because theyre upset with having more money taken out of their check. If youve been led to believe the Madison mobs are engaging in their popular uprising over money, youve been wronged.
This has nothing to do with pay and benefitsit is all about the unions. Period.
But dont take it from me. This teachers union leader flat out states the unions are willing to negotiate concessions (or give backs), as long as Walker doesnt touch the unions (aka their income stream).
After seven minutes of diatribe, I did not hear one mention of were doing it for the kids . Did you?
