Title: Palin Does It Again - Will This Woman Ever Learn To Keep Her Mouth Shut?

Sarah Palin followed in Rep. Michele Bachmann’s footsteps and took a swipe at Michelle Obama on Thursday, mocking her efforts to get mothers to breast-feed their children.

“No wonder Michelle Obama is telling everybody, ‘You’d better breast-feed your baby,” she said at a Long Island appearance on Thursday, after slamming President Barack Obama for rising gas prices and other items — like milk — since he took office. “Yeah, you’d better, because the price of milk is so high right now.”

The comments come two days after Bachmann accused the first lady of trying to implement a “nanny state.”

“To think that government has to go out and buy my breast pump for my babies? You wanna talk about the nanny state, I think you just got a new definition.”

Bachmann, a Minnesota Republican and tea party favorite, added that the first lady’s agenda is ““very consistent with where the hard left is coming from.”

“For them, government is the answer to every problem,” she said. “And so, government got us in this problem, and so they think government is going to get us out of the problem. Clearly, they’re wrong.”

Michelle Obama, who is overseeing an East Wing campaign to promote exercise and healthy eating among children, said last week that infants who are breast-fed longer “have a lower tendency to be obese” as they grow up, a claim supported by medical studies.

White House aides have said that Obama isn’t trying to push nursing as a rule; rather, they say, she is using breast-feeding as an example of simple, everyday steps parents can take to improve the health of their children.

“Breast-feeding is a very personal choice for every woman,” Kristina Schake, Michelle Obama’s communications director told POLITICO earlier this week. “We are trying to make it easier for those who choose to do it.”

From the Guardian.

An increase of up to 70% in the price of formula milk for babies has ... was about six months ago, because of rising global prices for milk.

Liberal retards don't know that baby formula is baby milk. lol

A) Pediatricians recommend breast feeding over cow's milk which is chock full of antibiotics and homones.

B) Baby's don't move on to whole milk until they are several weeks old.

C) The price of milk is "banded" in just about every state of the union, i.e., it cannot be raised above a certain level nor can it be sold below a certain level.

D) Since when is encouraging breast feeding part of a liberal agenda?

Why are you defending Palin's stupidity, Stone?

Palin's comments about breast milk, etc is a bizarre kind of statement for a politician to make.

war, I actually think Palin and Bachmann are handled by the same group of behind the scenes. The bizarre stuff Palin and Bachman fixate on as something to oppose only makes sense if you once belonged or followed kook right wing groups - usually linked to a religious like cult.

Why are you defending Palin's stupidity, Stone?

Because he wants her to run for pres, even though she hasn't stated a single thing she'd do if elected. All she does is fire off attacks at anyone who questions her and rake in money telling her followers what they want to hear.

I see nothing factually inaccurate about the statements in the article.

Having two daughters- both toddlers- I have very recent experience with the subject matter (though, admittedly, not the question of breast-feeding itself).

Why do you want Palin to keep her mouth shut on this subject? Hit a little too close to home?

Socialist ass-hats think "There will be no more money when the U.S. dollar has no value, until that time we can keep printing more." And yes, that IS from LF's answer to Ben Bernanke, go65, leading disfunctional and delusional socialist of the forum.

Apparently, the Wasilla Hillbilly forgot all about this.

"Gov. Sarah Palin, R-Alaska, has issued the following proclamation:

WHEREAS, breastfeeding is recognized as an unequalled means of providing food for infants.

WHEREAS, throughout their lives, breastfeeding can offer children protection against serious health conditions, including obesity, diabetes, and high blood pressure. Breastfeeding also saves lives by reducing the incidence of life-threatening cancers in women and preventing premature death in infants.

WHEREAS, breastfeeding forms the most basic bond between mother and baby and is a foundation for lifelong health and wellness.

WHEREAS, government and community organizations have a vested interest in protecting and promoting breastfeeding as a means of preventing infant malnutrition, morbidity, and mortality.

WHEREAS, during October, organizations throughout our state will promote the importance of breastfeeding. This year, in conjunction with World Breastfeeding Week - October 1 through October 7 - the State of Alaska will support networks that encourage and promote breastfeeding in all communities.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Sarah Palin, Governor of the State of Alaska, do hereby proclaim October 2007 as:

Breastfeeding Awareness Month

in Alaska, and encourage all residents to recognize and support the important contributions breastfeeding makes in improving the quality of life for all Alaskans. "

What she says now:

“To think that government has to go out and buy my breast pump for my babies? You wanna talk about the nanny state, I think you just got a new definition.”

What she said then:

"WHEREAS, government and community organizations have a vested interest in protecting and promoting breastfeeding as a means of preventing infant malnutrition, morbidity, and mortality.

WHEREAS, during October, organizations throughout our state will promote the importance of breastfeeding. This year, in conjunction with World Breastfeeding Week - October 1 through October 7 - the State of Alaska will support networks that encourage and promote breastfeeding in all communities. "

OMG, she's a community organizer to boot!

How soon everyone forgets how the Hershey company promoted infant formula abroad to increase profits, and got a major boycott on it's hands as the women in the third world did not have access to the clean water and equipment to use the product.

Mother's milk has not only nutrition and is clean, but it gives infants the mother's natural immunity to diseases while it's immune system is developing.

Palin is just fishing for some issue to play Machiavellian games with. She is about two things; pumping up the conservative electorate to hand it off to those seriously running, and to continue making money with her 'tastes great, less filling' act that creates headlines, gives her $$$, but also shows how unpresidential she is.
