Actually it means absolutely nothing at all.

If this Spic has any ideology, which I doubt, he'll quickly lose it when he gets power and Arbusto starts handing out the bribes.

Well, that's possible..

I suppose I am hoping for a populist/nationalist along the lines of Hugo Chavez.

I know he's said some nasty things about nafta and has spoken about putting their own house in order.

It's high time, imo.

The solution to a broken and corrupt Mexico is fixing it. Not fleeing it.

encampments -- in Spanish called plantones -- compare to the scale ordered by Lopez Obrador. He called for representatives of each of the country's 31 states, as well as the 16 districts that make up Mexico City, to pitch camps along a 4.6-mile stretch of the city center.

"Frankly, I believe they'll end up taking over the streets because of the number of people -- they just won't fit," said Gerardo Fernandez Norona, a spokesman for Lopez Obrador's Democratic Revolution Party.

Few expect Mexico City mayor Alejandro Encinas, a member of Lopez Obrador's party, to take action against the protesters. Lopez Obrador stepped down as mayor a year ago to run for president and has broad political support here, among both citizens and local government.

Not nuking it?

Well, the fact is, no Mexican can fix Mexico. Just like no African can fix Africa. Maybe the CHinese will colonise it and make a hand soon.

I just like him because he sounds so hostile to us (Which I consider to be a good thing.) and doesn't appreciate the free trade area mentality. Doesn't like NAFTA and, if I remember correctly, was upset about all the mexicans leaving to come here for employment. Said it showed that NAFTA failed, hurting the country, etc.

Besides, he's not the establishment's endorced guy, so I automatically have to give him a little rope.

Good points. I'm hoping he threatens to attack us. That way we can get some border control.

No kidding..

I want some fire and brimstone rants about how the US is sucking Mexico dry with our open borders and free trade deals.

Seriously.. I want some REAL anti-American sentiment. Thus far, the best Fox & friends have been able to muster is anti-isolationism sentiment.

I want a isolationist, nationalist, populist who is distrustful of us and sees us as stealing mexico's working class for themselves.. So the fat lazy Americans can lay around and eat grapes while the dark skinned do all the work! I want wide eyed rants about how there needs to be some wealth distribution in mexico (Which, actually is a valid arguement in this instance.. The place is so corrupt, it would be hard to weep for those who prospered unjustly.) I want to hear how we're stealing their women, their natural resources and trying to destroy their culture.

IOW, hope the commie bastard just lets go with both barrels.

Hoo Rah!

Lopez Obrador Protest Camps Disrupt Traffic in Mexico City July 31 (Bloomberg) -- Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador's supporters blocked traffic to thousands of businesses and hotels as they set up camps along Mexico City's main avenue to demand a recount of Mexico's July 2 presidential election,

Lopez Obrador, who the country's election agency said lost the vote, yesterday urged hundreds of thousand of protesters packing Mexico City's central square to join 47 protest camps in the capital as he presses for ballot-by-ballot review. Last night and this morning party officials and supporters erected tents in the city center and some of the capital's main streets.

Protester tents completely blocked a stretch of Paseo de la Reforma, Mexico City police said in a statement. Reforma provides access to the Mexican stock exchange, the U.S. embassy, Mexico headquarters of HSBC Holdings Plc. and the city's primary hotel district.

Lopez Obrador, who lost to governing party candidate Felipe Calderon according to the country's election agency, pledged to live in the encampments while the electoral court weighs his petition for a recount. The former Mexico City mayor drew as many 1.2 million people to the demonstration yesterday, El Universal newspaper reported, citing police.
