Usually when someone casts doubts on Obama's professed Christianity, it's accompanied by a claim that the President is actually a secret Muslim. Yet Bill Maher thinks Obama is faking his religion to hide a different secret: his agnosticism. Maher argued that Obama only pretends to be a Christian because it would be political suicide to say otherwise. Similarly, he said that Obama also feigns his opinions about other contentious issues like gay marriage to appear more centrist and thus boost his popularity. "I think he's a centrist the way he's a Christian," Maher said on his program, Real Time. "He's pretending to be a centrist." "His mother was a secular humanist and I think he is too," he added.

Tea party conservatives continue to believe, according to opinion poles, that the president is not eligible to hold his office due to his citizenship, and that he shares his father's Muslim beliefs. The U.S. Constitution requires that the president be a U.S. citizen who was born on U.S. territory. Now, I know I’m not going to change the minds of any of the True Believers…those who read all of Reverend Al’s sermons, and say things like, “You know, global warming can mean warmer OR colder, wetter OR drier, cloudier OR sunnier, windier OR calmer, …”. Can I get an ‘amen’??
