President Obama recounts an anecdote about the 2004 Democratic National Convention at White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs' final press briefing: "The most challenging problem was what tie to wear. And this went up to the very last minute. I mean, 10 minutes before we were about to go on stage we were still having an argument about ties. I had bought five, six ties. And Michelle didn't like any of them, Axelrod didn't like a couple of them -- him being one of the best dressed men in the world. So we really valued his opinion. "And then somebody -- I don't remember who it was -- turned and said, 'You know what? What about Gibbs' tie? What about Gibbs' tie? That might look good.' And, frankly, Robert didn't want to give it up because he thought he looked really good in the tie. But eventually he was willing to take one for the gipper, and so he took off his tie, and I put it on. And that's the tie that I wore at the national convention."

Thank you for the confidence. BTW, I can retrieve the data from FR if you think I am lying or exagerrating. What strikes me as funny is Bob_J got his his ass banned last year from FR. He got what was coming to him playing around with the concept of an inner sanctum otherwise known as a goon squad. The man stinks up everywhere he goes because of his authoritarian personna; he is the anti-thesis of liberty and freedom.

Mike, you and I have chatted on the Internet since 1998, correct? I think we first met on FR. Have you noticed how I have never talked bad about Jim? In 1999, BadJoe and WillaJ (BadJoe's wife) started the threads for bringing in a few bucks to Jim because JR was about to go bankrupt. That effort kicked off a number of annual events so FR could stay on-line. I only talk bad about JR's son, John, because that little punk makes all kinds of clones giving the impression that FR is LARGER THAN IT REALLY IS.
I found FR after chasing after a disruptor who was a pain in the ass on the Time.Com/Politics site and was calling for a FReep flying monkey style of that site. I did start chatting with you about then, yes. I was on FR for several years as 'ferret,' but you knew that. ;-)
I liked those days and miss the old Don Morgan ASH ALERT!s and Trixie's 'Eagales UP! war cries. The new bunch are so... bland compared to the folks that used to be there. I miss Blackie too, who was local to me and used to have coffee with me at Saturday Market in Eugene.

That Guy really hates me and is still death on any accounts starting in Eugene, Oregon. He spotted me once taking pictures of Jim, him and others when they were picketing in protest of anti-war protesters in Fresno. He tries to lead a charge of fat old FReepers on me. Gee, it was so hard to drive away from that lightweight brigade.
This is the problem of any small company when relatives are introduced as a full time employee. How Jim is tolerant of that punk's shenanigans is beyond me. But FR is fraudulent from an operational perspective. It doesn't require 400K/yr to operate irrespective of staff considerations. The founder really did a good job but it has devolved.
Devolved and has lost it's way. Bob said he was booted after Jim found he was posting on politisInk and part of JimRob and JohnRob's problem is they are so ruthless and careless in how and what they ban for. They are having trouble finding focus issue/cause anchors to keep the dog and pony show going, and with the new ways information is being passed around the Internet which are far more low overhead than their operation, I don't expect to see FR for many more years.
It'll go the way of liberal talk radio. Fookin airheads are so boring.
FR is splintering off as ALL chit-chat channels do. Liberty Forum was one of the first channels to fracture in 2000; it was the largest chit-chat channel on the planet from REAL posters all over the world. I joined because of John Deere's vision (he died) and at the time, it was required to have a personal invitation .... then unamused invited me to the upstart LibertyPost and later, unamused created FreedomUnderground, and the spin-off there was christine's Freedom4um. Because of TLBSHOW, Stone created LibertysFlame. They all break up. Now, TBF is on-line (a possible alternative to FR antics) but it sucks by both user interface and management.
Quite a few of the posters suck too, buckeroo.
And you should look at yourself with a monicker and picture constantly badgering everone you disagree with. It must suck to be you.

All latter day FReeps have is vague talk of former activist clout and glory. It is a vehicle now that exists to line his and his family pockets. Bandwidth is much cheaper now, their software outdated and the best FReepers are all banned, usually when they rightfully pointed at how things were falling apart or for minor garbage they should of been left alone about.
