Its Christine ODonnell versus the world. Defeated 2010 Delaware Senate candidate Christine ODonnell sent out the first letter to raise money for her new political action committee Tuesday, slamming Democrats, Republicans, and vowing to investigate
billionaire leftist George Soros.
Called ChristinePAC, the group is raising money to fund congressional candidates, advocate for conservative causes and apparently settle scores left unresolved after her run for Senate against now-Sen. Chris Coons last year.
Youve probably heard about the latest smear on me. The establishment is going to keep attacking and keep trying to destroy those they think might be a threat, the letter reads. A strong ChristinePAC will enable me to counter the liberal-controlled GOP establishment.
ODonnell blasted the Republican Party on the campaign trail last year for what she said was a lack of support for her candidacy. The National Republican Senatorial Committee donated the maximum amount to her campaign but it wasnt enough to heal the wounds from the election in which ODonnell regularly complained that she did not have enough support from Washington Republicans.*
For ODonnell, the battle against Republicans is just the half of it.
Democrats widely criticized ODonnell during the campaign for once saying that she dabbled in witchcraft and for leading a national group in the 1990s devoted to discouraging masturbation. She famously said later that she was not a witch or any of the things youve heard and that her views have matured. In the letter, ODonnell promises to investigate and counter attack leftwing groups who keep after me because they consider strong, Republican women a danger to their status quo.
According to the e-mail, the PAC will also pay for ODonnell, who has had financial problems in the past, to continue to travel and do political work for the Tea Party movement.
Your donation also enables me to speak out in many venues from Coast to Coast, thereby helping support a nationwide effort. This is a way that will help me counter attack our opponents and bring the battle to them, the letter reads.
I pray you will send your immediate and generous donation as you have done before.
*This article originally reported that NRSC Chairman Sen. John Cornyn did not immediately support ODonnell when she was elected. Cornyn released a statement the day of the election in support of ODonnell, but would not say before the election if he would support her if she were nominated.
