To: go65 (#13) I would rather see President Obama than any of the Republicans doing this way too early lineup. I supported Ron Paul in the primaries last time and if he had won, I would have the same, 'better the asshole you know than the one you don't know yet' approach. I sure don't like many of Obama's policies, but I like him on a personal level. He is a decent human being. I also don't want four more years of learning curve problems. I was a big fan of Ron Paul as well in early 2008 and contributed to his campaign before he had raised his first million. I've lost faith in him now though, I firmly believe that pushing for massive spending cuts now will serve to wreck what little momentum the economy has. The answer to the deficit is modest cuts, higher taxes, and a policy that encourages growth, not slash and burn cuts that at the end of the day will leave the deficit where it is now (and maybe even worse) because they will weaken the economy and drive down tax revenues.
