
Pedro Garcia, left, and Wilfredo Sanchez On Thursday, Pedro Garcia, 33, pleaded not guilty to murder in a Hackensack courtroom, after his live-in boyfriend Francisco Gonzalez Fuentes, 46, was killed and his dismembered body parts were found stuffed in garbage bags last week.
Another man, Wilfredo Sanchez, 34, is accused of witnessing the murder and helping Garcia dispose of the body.
According to Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli, Garcia, stabbed and then butchered Fuentes body with a household knife after a party at their shared apartment on Saturday night.
Molinelli said: It was a domestic argument that took place between Pedro and Francisco.
The men allegedly stuffed the head and torso into one garbage bag and the rest of the body parts into other bags, leaving the bags at various locations close to their Cliffside Park apartment.
Police are still looking for a bag containing Fuentes hands and other body parts that was picked up by sanitation workers.
Garcia and Sanchez each were charged with murder, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, unlawful possession of a weapon, desecration of human remains and hindering apprehension.
Bergen County Assistant Prosecutor John Higgins reports that Garcia is in the country illegally from El Salvador and was facing deportation before Fuentes murder.
Garcia and Sanchez are currently being held in the Bergen County Jail.
