It's not entirely clear if Donny Deutsch thought he was being complimentary or derogatory by comparing Sarah Palin to diminutive "Jersey Shore" reality star/walking train wreck Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi, but it was bizarre either way.
Deutsch, sitting in with MSNBC's "Morning Joe" team, took a look at Palin's popularity with his ad man eye, and theorized that the public loves a great character who's always guaranteed to say something interesting, whether it's about caribou hunting or hair spray.
Why the fascination [with Sarah Palin]? Its very simple and Im not going to be glib here. She is Snooki. Its the same math. A younger generation they want to watch this character with big hair whos funny.
"You dont know shes going to say. Its no different but for a higher demographic! We watch her, shes interesting looking.
"What's she going to say? Shes campy, shes kitschy, its telegenic, its television, its entertaining thats the fascination. Beginning, middle and end of story, shes Snooki.
