Washington (CNN) - After a difficult and controversial two-week stretch for Sarah Palin, the former Alaska governor's favorable rating has dipped to its lowest level since she joined the 2008 Republican presidential ticket and became a household name. According to the new USA TODAY/Gallup survey, Palin's favorability rating has dipped to 38 percent while her unfavorable now stands at 53 percent. Gallup reports the 38 percent is a new low when it comes to the percentage of Americans who give the former Alaska governor a thumbs up. The 53 percent who dislike Palin is also a new high in Gallup polling. A similar poll in July found 44 percent of Americans viewed her favorably while 47 percent did not.

Don't trust any polls about Palin. They are more about political agenda than they are fact. I'm betting if a fair poll were taken of truly random people in "fly over country" her favorable numbers would be much higher that what you see in the typical CNN,etc polls.

Don't trust any polls about anything. Has anyone seen today's headline in the USA TODAY? It reads, "Poll: Most want GOP, Obama to get along". It's also a USA Today/Gallop poll. Polls are designed to shape opinion, not report it.

Anchorage daily on the internet has greatcoverage in many aspects of Alaskan society.
checking in on Mark,.....read daily turns on Palin,Joe Miller,Murkowski...all that.
The articles had in some cases over 300 poster coments
These were Alaskans who openly admitted doing the door to door thing for Joe Miller
and were horrified at his behaviour after the write in election results.
These posters comented about Joe Millers crazed coments about Social security reforms.
In the end,...its scared the shit outta the back country Alaskan's/First Nations peoples.
They turned on Joe and Palin in a big way.
They just wanted the status quo in Alaska to remain,
Miller and Palin thought they could stir everything up and create some power move thing.
