The liberal blogger lives in Giffords district in Arizona and had voted for her and supported her for election, but now was quite upset that Giffords had voted against Nancy Pelosi for Minority Leader. The blogger declared that Gabrielle Giffords was now "DEAD TO ME." Interesting choice of words. The modern demonetization of political opponents started with the 64 election, where a sitting President (LBJ) won re-election by claiming his opponent would start a nuclear war and destroy the world. Of course, after the election the sitting President murdered 50,000 Americans and perhaps 1,000,000 Vietnamese in a nonsensical war that didn't benefit anyone. Fast forward to Reagan in 1980 who was demonized as a war monger, idiot, and racist by "great" Senators like fat boy Teddy, who managed to stay in office even after he drove off a bridge and swam away while his date was drowning and then tried to cover it up the next day. Let's not forget about Judge Bork, where fat boy Teddy took a leading role in saying the most hateful, vile things about this man that one could imagine. The REAL problem with American politics is that it took the so-called "right" DECADES to match the vitriol and venom of the hateful left. Now that they have, the left can't stand the heat.
