If you’re an SUV owner and you’re living in France, it’s likely you soon won’t be able to enter into the city of Paris. The mayor’s office hinted this week that different types of vehicles may be banned from the city, including old diesel vehicles, and SUVs. Denis Baupin, a Parisian environmental official, told RTL radio anyone who had an SUV should “sell it and buy a vehicle that’s compatible with city life. I’m sorry, but having a sport utility vehicle in a city makes no sense.” Test restrictions are set to begin late next year, giving SUV-loving Parisians a short amount of time to get out of what Baupin calls “gas-guzzlers”. Along with Paris, Lyon, Grenoble and Aix-en-Provence are also considering the restrictions. Penalties have not yet been decided, but the cities may model their restrictions on London’s low emission zones.

Yeah, the Citroen deux chevaux was hidious with it's wooden seat and thin sheet metal. But they are French, they will never ban these.
Here is one SUV I'm sure they would let in though.
Ever notice cars are looking more and more like Nike footgear? And the models are looking more and more like Barbie dolls with an attitute too.
LOL. And they're idea of "a vehicle that’s compatible with city life" would be the following? Of courese, the French have their own version of the "smart car" already: Getting tired of the bozoed calcon following me around on the 'net, wanting to discuss "tossing salad." Sorry, you sick rump-ranger. NOT interested.
Yeah, the Citroen Deux Chevaux was the classic, 'have your passenger jump out and run so the car can make the hill' beast with wooden seats, and no inner panels on the doors or other creature comforts. They are so sparse, you have to do lots of changes to them to get them U.S. road use legal.
I was thinking more about the upscale Citroen that is the French equivalent of a Caddy or Mercedes,and is favored by French bureaucrats,elected officials,and the wealthy. It's even uglier than the CV2.

I know, with the high tech hydraulic suspension and has such a reputation for speed people just pull over and let them go by on country roads in that land. I've seen it. Those cars usually just get a free pass everywhere just so you don't have them tail gating you unmercifully.
No,this is a French government minister you are talking about,and a communist. But....,I repeat myself. What they have in mind is city buses for the masses,and luxury limo's with guards for the ruling elite. Maybe even a special lane down the center so they don't have to wait at stoplights with the common people,and police to stop traffic at every intersection so they wouldn't have to stop as they head out of town to their dachas. Hell,the communist Soviet bureaucracy even had a big-ass department store right on Red Square they could shop in to buy western goods that was off-limits to typical Soviet citizens. Ain't equality just GRAND?
