"Why is it that you liberals (Socialists) are the ones who always bring up race, when conservatives don't really care?"
That is not congruent with my experience, Eric. I was married to an African American woman and have a mixed race son and grand kids. So I hardly qualify as racist. I also know that racism can be a double edged sword when I encountered family and friends of my Ex who did not like me much because of my race. To be fair to many of them though, they warmed up as they grew to know me.
But back to the point, I have spent a great deal of time listening to many conservatives claim I voted for Obama because he is mixed race, and that he allegedly is my 'messiah.'
I think race registers on the political map of many people. Though I will grant you that being Republican alone does not make someone racist. I know too many GOPers who are not racist, and it would be a kin to the trappings of racism to paint all GOPers with the same brush.
What is important here is to remember this video is a lampooning and political humor that exagerates to make a point. So I wouldn't get too upset or strident over it.
I've also seen good satire taking people of my political stripe on that made a good point, and was similarly exaggerated for humors sake and to lampoon.
I am of mind that neither the right or left have everything right, and we need each other to challenge each other to vett what is right and proper politically. And the checks and balances of power, and the process of compromise is too important to get rid of.
I would be alarmed if this were just a land and government of liberals. Wnem we get it wrong, we can do it as epically as conservatives do.
We need to listen to and have respect for each other if we are to keep this grand experiment called the United States born in the 18th Century alive and well.
