I doubt Ferret Mike was ever in the US army. Yes to the first assertion. As for the second, I knew a few, thankfully a small few, in the service that were just like him. Most of em didn't make it out of bootcamp. I've know far too many that claimed to have served, only to be outted as liars. Don't know which catagory this turd fits into, I just know when called out he shrank.

My DD for 214s are available from the Lane County Records clerk in Eugene, OR, the county seat. Whiner Sands is no doubt is defaulting to slander in regards to my service. I dare him to write for a copy of one of my DD form 214s, or all of them to verify my service. The Lane County records clerk registers DD form 214s free as a service to vets. And anything in their data base is public record. Cheers.

The service is very easy to verify. I have all my DD form 214s registered with the Lane County Records clerk. They are public record, and under Michael Joseph McCarthy. My first enlistment was 21 Sep 76 - 20 Sep 79. So if Sands wants to slander a veteran without checking, it's on him. That first DD form 214 is in my name, and has basic parachutist wings and A/C crewmember wings, so if they send that one, it's mine. As far as his whines about the gender of returning bannee accounts, I spent years being a thorn in Jim and John Rob's side, and learned many techniques for doing shadow accounts, and varying the gender was one of them. So his whines are sketchy and contrived. My first enlistment, my MOS was 67N UH- 1H helicopter repair and maintenance. I trained at Ft. Rucker, went to jump school, than the 82nd Abn Div at Ft. Bragg, N.C. I don't hardly think I would know this bird with a T53L13 engine, and a semi- rigid, preconed and underslung rotor head unless I had had to deal with them as a maintenance person, but he is free to posture as he wishes. Murron started the entire show which finished this week when she had enough and got Stone to delete her thread slandering me. She took me on, and I finished it. Boot camp is more a Marine term, it is BCT, Basic Combat Training. It is a course that turns 'trainees' into 'soldiers,' and falls under the auspices of TRADOC, or Training and Doctrine Command. I went to BCT at Ft. Knox, KY, Company D-15-4, third Platoon. I graduated, and I ETSed with an Honorable discharge. I know the Army, especially in this period and the 1980s when I went back in well. In fact, I bet I know it much better than you do.
I did my basic training at Fort Knox in 1989. It was ROTC basic - not quite the real thing, six days a week for for six weeks, though we did spend most of the last 3 weeks in the woods. You only had to go to Fort Knox if you joined ROTC after your sophomore year. You didn't sign a contract until just before the start of your junior year, so the tried to make the Fort Knox experience extremely positive.
I did my basic at Fort Knox too. It was AOBC - I was a tanker. And I won't say when...chuckle.
