The north of Israel is undergoing a Katushya rocket aerial assault of unprecedented severity. Two woman have been killed at the time of this writing from rocket attacks (one in Nahariya & one in Safed) and 120 are wounded with injuries ranging from shrapnel cuts to the critically wounded. In the last several hours, Katushya missiles have fallen in dozens of locations, including Nahariya, Safed, Meron, Metula, Kryiat Shimona, and most significantly, Haifa. It has become nearly impossible to track the total of Katushya rockets striking Israeli soil, however it appears that an estimate of 100 in the last 24 hours is not unlikely. However, it is critical to note that our 100-missile estimate would represent a mere 1% of the Katushya rocket batteries that were deployed in southern Lebanon by Hizbullah after the hasty and ill-advised Israeli retreat approximately 5 years ago. The population of Israel, which has honed its sense of national denial (and mission) to tragic levels in the last decade, refuses to understand what has happened and what must be done. And, this pathological ideology, which resulted in the Oslo and Disengagement debacles, is at the core of the current Kadima government and its leadership.
