Ed Schultz continues his war on Rush Limbaugh and once again labels him a "racist."
Last night Schultz had Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee on to call Limbaugh racist. Tonight, he brings Al Sharpton into the brawl.
"When you keep having all these racial tones that is supported by federal regulated radio -- just remember, the stations that he is on go to the federal government to get consolidation, to get waivers," Sharpton said.
"The government has the right to protect free speech, but they also have an obligation to hold standards where [the] American people are not subjected to this," Sharpton added. (emphasis mine)
Sharpton didn't stop at implying Limbaugh is somehow violating his constitutional right to free speech, he went on to suggest the Democrats in Congress should get the FCC to investigate him.
"I think that the Congressional Black Caucus, Progressive Caucus and others ought to take this up with the FCC. They ought to be aligned on race, on gender, on sexual status. They ought to be aligned with the right that people say what they want, but they do not have the right to use federally regulated airwaves to malign to people because of groups and I think Mr. Limbaugh and others should be subjected to that line, Sharpton said.
