WASHINGTON (AP) — Senate Republicans have succeeded in blocking a measure designed to reduce wage disparities between men and women.

The 58-41 vote to take up the Paycheck Fairness Act fell short of the 60 needed to overcome GOP opposition.

Civil rights groups, labor leaders and the Obama administration all supported the bill, which would make employers prove that any disparities in wages are job-related and not sex-based.

And why would we want to place such ridiculous burdens on employers?

Because its what liberals do.

What, you thought something helpful to the economy might come from this Congress?

(laughing)

Obama's first all-by-his-lonesome budget, btw, calls for a $1.17 trillion deficit.

EXCELLENT.

If it were so much cheaper to hire women, then companies would hire them over men, because a company is in business to maximize profit. Thus, reducing labor costs would maximize the bottom line.

The end result would be that women would be more in demand, causing their salaries or wages to rise until... SURPRISE! ... They were be on-par with thier male counterparts.

Which, of course, is EXACTLY where we're at, right now.

This "Paycheck Fairness Act" could only be dreamed up (or considered for a vote) by IDIOT politicians and socialists.

HEH!

Getting tired of the bozoed calcon following me around on the 'net, wanting to discuss "tossing salad." Sorry, you sick rump-ranger. NOT interested.

Ok,since Republicans are a minority in the US Senate and not in a position to block anything, could you explain to us how they performed this magic act?

"WASHINGTON -- Senate Democrats were unable to overcome a Republican filibuster of the Paycheck Fairness Act on Tuesday, with the chamber falling two votes short of the 60 needed to end debate and proceed to a vote on the measure that would help combat wage discrimination on the basis of gender.

The vote broke down along party lines with the exception of sen. Ben Nelson (D-Neb.), who sided with Republicans and voted against cloture. Not a single member of the GOP broke rank."

Yeah, they're on your side - and you call them sows.

They are not on MY side anymore than they are on YOUR side. They are on THEIR side. They lust after personal political power and wealth, and promoting a special class of citizen and professional victim-hood is how they get it.

They proved this when they defended Bubba Bill against rape.

BTW,SOW stands for Society of Woman, but it is also true that a pig is a pig.
