Denair Middle School is about to get a lot more patriotic. A group is sending a million U.S. flags to the school after hearing school officials asked a student to remove a flag from his bike.
Rhonda Lyn Cooper, with TexasTimesToday.com said she got a link to FOX40's story about 13-year-old Cody being asked to remove his American Flag. Her friends told her "you gotta check out this story ... You will be shocked."

Advertising signs should not be fastened to a staff or halyard from which the flag is flown.
10. No part of the flag should ever be used as a costume or athletic uniform. However, a flag patch may be affixed to the uniform of military personnel, firemen, policemen, and members of patriotic organizations. The flag represents a living country and is itself considered a living thing. Therefore, the lapel flag pin being a replica, should be worn on the left lapel near the heart.
11. The flag, when it is in such condition that it is no longer a fitting emblem for display, should be destroyed in a dignified way, preferably by burning

I have never noticed that calling someone a "dumb ass bimbo" made the target one iota smarter, so one might assume the name calling fit is for your own benefit - to give a little boost to your sinking sense of self worth.
Now perhaps there is an article here that clearly states how the flag is displayed, but I don't see it. What I do see are some video links - too bad my computer isn't doing video at the moment.

Having started school on the heels of WWII, in a United States where most adults had served the war effort in one way or another, I was probably educated much differently than you imagine.
My contemporaries may have burned the flag, But I don't recall anyone who wore it on the "ASS" - it may have happened somewhere, I just never saw it or knew anyone who would have thought of such a thing.

I see bikers I ride with all the time flying American flags (plural in the case of one) from their Harleys.
I do too. It is odd to see the flag used in ways that my generation was taught were disrespectful by people who feel they are demonstrating their patriotism.

I doubt the boy with the flag on his bike, or the bikers who came to support him are aware of the rules regarding the care and display of the flag. I'm sure that just like the early tea party supporters that called themselves "tea-baggers" and wore tea bags suspended from their glasses and hats, they are ignorant.

You havent explained how this young boy's displaying the flag is 'disrespectful' by the way. Throughout WWII, kids had flags displayed on their bikes. Same during Korea, Vietnam. I don't see where its 'disrespectful' nor do I see anything in your comments explaining how it is 'disrespectful'.
This kid is PROUD of his country. We need more of that among the young.
