Title: Stupid Dim Party Predictions: Tsunami: Will Wipe Out Republican Party in 2010

I was listening to Governor Rendell of Pennsylvania and Governor Barbour of Mississippi on "Meet the Press" with David Gregory this morning while they discussed the Democratic and Republican Parties and the upcoming election in 2010. They were debating who would best benefit in 2010 over the issue of health care, government spending and the unemployment rate.

David Gregory pointed out some people saying that the Democrats projected spending this year and the unemployment rate of 10.2% would, in one example, cause a "Tidal Wave" for the GOP in 2010. I would argue that the "Tidal Wave" would instead, be a great "Tsunami" for the Democratic Party.

....

By becoming the Party of ‘No’ since January 20, 2009; the Republican Party has put themselves in the position of being the Party that was ‘wiped out’ by a Tsunami in November of 2010.

When voters see that they will soon have health care coverage and won’t lose what they have. When they see that the economy is growing instead of melting and that jobs are finally coming around and the risk of losing their own is less. When they see our roads, bridges, electric grids and infrastructure have all been improved since the Democratic Party took control – I predict there will be the greatest political Tsunami in history. This "Tsunami wave" will wipe out what is left of, what is today known as, the Republican Party.

the risk of losing their own is less.-Boy, that'll win over the masses right there. 8D

But that's the problem. If America had a choice that mattered, it would be made illegal:

"Cheney's leadership of Haliburton leading into Halliburton's [inaudible]

JAY: 'Cause you're saying it helps create a culture that allows something like this.

WILKERSON: Absolutely. Absolutely. And we saw that in Iraq, too. We saw Halliburton charging prices that were out of this world.

JAY: And even convicted of [inaudible]

WILKERSON: Yeah, [inaudible] convicted of this sort of thing, and actually having to break off Kellogg Brown & Root, its subsidiary, because Kellogg Brown & Root was getting so nefarious in what it was doing that Halliburton didn't want to be associated with it anymore—and, of course, all this was cast as financial decisions and so forth. But in the second way, and I think the more profound way, Cheney's responsible for the deregulation that leads to, I think, lots more problems down the pipe. In fact, I'm told there are—in this same category, I'm told there are platforms out there that are drilling at 7,000 feet. This one, Deep Horizon, was about 5,000 feet. I'm told that the same kind of procedures are being used on all of them. Just this morning I heard about the MMS again being embroiled in these kickbacks from the industry and so forth, people at the MMS, on NPR. This is all a part of the culture that Cheney created in the eight years that he was vice president. And I don't want to blame it all on Cheney, because this has been a Republican mantra for a long time. And whether it's Mitch McConnell in the Senate or whether it's someone else in the Republican guard, we—I'm a Republican—we have been spouting this deregulation, spouting this "the market is the best guide", spouting this business about let private industry do everything and all things will be wonderful, and don't have any government interference at all. And what we've done is stripped government regulation and oversight from so many things across this country, we're going to be paying for it for years to come. We're going to be paying dearly for it. There are going to be more oil spills, there are going to be more bridges collapsing, there are going to be more hurricanes that surprise us in their devastation and so forth, because we Republicans have stripped government of its ability, of its capacity to do the kinds of things that it should do that no one else can do, certainly not someone with a profit motive can do.

(chuckle)

Pelosi, Reid and Owe-bama STILL don't accept what just happened.

Obama's first all-by-his-lonesome budget, btw, calls for a $1.17 trillion deficit.

This "Tsunami wave" will wipe out what is left of, what is today known as, the Republican Party.

Complete and Utter nonsense.

First, the Democrat Party has already clearly become the new party of no. NO to the recommendations of Obama's deficit commission. NO to tax reform. NO to reigning in the enormous salaries and lavish bonuses of paper pushing bureaucrats which is destroying our economy. This is already clear to a majority of Americans.

Second, there are 33 Senators up for reelection in 2012. 23 Democrats and only 10 Republicans. Many of the 23 Democrats are in solidly Republican states. The GOP will take the Senate in 2012.

Third, the GOP will take control of a majority of state legislatures and governors offices just in time for redistricting. For the most part, red states will gain House seats and blue states will lose House seats. That combination will enable the creation of between 20 and 25 additional safe GOP districts. The GOP's base of safe seats will move from about 175 to about 200 for the next 10 years. The Democrats base of safe seats will drop accordingly.

The Democrats were able to stay in power for decades because the left controlled the national media and public school system, and therefore the flow of information in the country. Thanks to the internet and nationally syndicated talk radio, that is no longer true. There is now a true marketplace of ideas and the lunatic left is losing badly because their ideas stink.

Pelosi, Reid and Owe-bama STILL don't accept what just happened.

They never will.

Pelosi is 70 years old. When she grew up the left control the entire debate and agenda. They controlled the national media. They controlled the public schools, home schooling was illegal, and private schools were only for the super rich. There was little to no competition for ideas and national debate. There was a consensus that we need to look to government for solutions. To the extent that there was a GOP, they generally agreed with that consensus (Nixon created the EPA, OSHA, took us off the gold standard, and greatly expanded Johnson's Great Society programs). She didn't see her first conservative president until she was middle age. The only other real conservative she ever heard of was Barry Goldwater who she viewed as some nut from prairie who went down in flames when she was in her 20s.

To her, it must seem like aliens have landed and brainwashed the population.

She will never get it. She will never accept it. Never. Because she is not capable of doing so.
