WASHINGTON (AP) -- The Pentagon says it's trying to figure out whether a missile was launched off the coast of southern California and who might have launched it. Spokesmen for the Navy, Air Force, Defense Department and North American Aerospace Defense Command say they are looking into a video posted on the website of Southern California television station KFMB. The video appears to show a rocket or some other object shooting up into the sky and leaving a large contrail over the Pacific Ocean. Pentagon spokesman Col. Dave Lapan said Tuesday that officials can't confirm that there was a launch and if there was, by whom. He says officials are talking to the Air Force, Navy and NORAD as well as civilian authorities who control and monitor air space.

Riiight. And it was so 'tippy top secret' they LAUNCHED AT 5PM, WITHIN SIGHT OF THE LOS ANGELES FREEWAY. Riiiight. During RUSH HOUR IN LOS ANGELES. FM, 'somebody' wanted this SEEN. It wasn't the Pentagon. It wasn't 'ours'. It wasn't an 'accident' by AMERICA. I know the procedures very well from my time in service. You cannot launch a weapon system from a sub by 'yourself'. You can't do it without the entire control room being aware and either actively participating, or passively letting it happen, one or the other. I don't know what nation did this. But I'm 99.999 percent certain it wasn't the United States.
I spent time in the service too, and it is always tricky to try to analyze what we did or do and if so why this is so. But one thing is certain, you will never admit you were wrong when you said this was made up and was sure of it. You have too much a propensity for convenient amnesia when you mis-speak.

And this is the only time since I started posting in 1995 and my spelling needed work I've heard such nonsense, and I've written many things not dealing with posting over the years. I've sold writing too. Thus I pay this game here no mind as I know what flaming is and why it is done. Think what you want about my writing aptitude; it is your problem, not mine.
