News network MSNBC has suspended host Keith Olbermann indefinitely after a news report stated he donated to the campaigns of three Democratic candidates. Mediaite quotes MSNBC President Phil Griffin as saying, "I became aware of Keith’s political contributions late last night. Mindful of NBC News policy and standards, I have suspended him indefinitely without pay." Politico reported Friday: Olbermann, who acknowledged the contributions in a statement to POLITICO, made the maximum legal donations of $2,400 apiece to Conway and to Arizona Reps. Raul Grijalva and Gabrielle Giffords. He donated to the Arizona pair on Oct. 28 — the same day that Grijalva appeared as a guest on Olbermann’s “Countdown” show. Grijalva, a prominent liberal who was just declared a winner in his race Thursday night, was in a tight contest against tea-party-backed candidate Ruth McClung when he appeared on "Countdown" — one of several appearances he made on the show. NBC has a rule against employees contributing to political campaigns, and a wide range of news organizations prohibit political contributions — considering it a breach of journalistic independence to contribute to the candidates they cover.

Landslide? This was something that will no doubt hurt in the short term, but help President Obama in the long run. I don't view this as a disaster, just a usual mid term adjustment exacerbated by economic times. I witnessed Mt. Saint Helens blowing up from a tree planting unit slightly southeast to it just across the Columbia River. e fled in panic throwing our tools and running as fast as the Earth shaking would allow nearly crashing the crummy (jargon for work vehicle) on the way down the hill. This was more like one of those many small landslides you see in Oregon on clear-cuts during the rainy season. Landslides you would never know were ever there several years down the road as the new trees spring up into full robust life after struggling for some years after a human with a hoedad planted them there. This is just normal American political realities as they have always been in recant decades, nothing more.
Someone that doesn't have ten dollars is in no position to make such claims.

FM, 680 NEW GOP office holders nationally. You would be hard pressed to find anything remotely close to this scale of a blowout in our nation's history. We all know the record as it relates to the House. We all know what happened in the Senate as well, and how close the GOP came to winning 11 seats. But the governorships? The GOP stomped the hell out of the Democrats on this. When you factor in the coming redistricting in key 'swing states' combined with Owe-bama stunning drop in approval ratings ALREADY in those states...in the 'long run' he's FUCKED, to be blunt. Look at Ohio. 33% approval rating BEFORE TUESDAY. He came here 12 times during this election cycle...and Ohio went almost completely for the GOP as a result of his efforts. Now add next years redistricting under almost exclusive GOP control in Ohio. He can't win the state in 2012. Period. And NOBODY wins the Presidency without Ohio. You know this...so the 'won't hurt him in the long run' is simply ridiculous. Now add what happened in Florida, Michigan, Indiana, Pennsylvania. He's lost the mid west. He has no shot in the South. And the best part of all? Democrats control the Whitehouse and the Senate through 2012. Its STILL Owe-bama's Washington. There is no viable way to run against the Republicans while Owe-bama and company control TWO THIRDS of the Federal Government. He's lost women. He's lost Independents. He's even losing support among African Americans, and hispanics. He's lost the vaunted 'middle' in other words. Note none of this factors in the economy, which is going to get worse next year, there is no stopping it, that die was cast. None of this factors in the huge swing of State Legislatures. It was a landslide, FM. A complete rebuking by 'We the People'.

The only thing wrong with that sentence you cite is that I was southwest to the eruption on that large finger of Oregon that is there because the Columbia River turns to the north near Portland, not southeast. 1. Owe-bama can't run against a GOP congress. 2. Owe-bama's agenda and legislative efforts have effectively been rebuked in a landslide at the county, state and federal level. 3. The GOP can now filibuster ANYTHING in the Senate for the next two years. 4. The New Majority in the House is the result of the bigget landslide in 80 YEARS (I think its 80) for the Republicans. 5. Owe-bama care gets defunded, and the Republicans can force vote after vote after vote from now until November pigeonholing Democrats on just about every single issue that faces us. 6. The election cycle concluded this week shows Owe-bama has lost the battleground states of Ohio, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Florida. 7. Redistricting in most of the 'battleground states' means he won't carry them under any conceivable set of circumstances in 2012. 8. State Attorney General offices switched to the GOP. This means even more states will sue the Federal Government to stop Owe-bamacare, and quite a few other legislative efforts. Not to mention they will now side with Arizona on the immigration laws. You claim THIS is 'faulty logic' huh? Pelosi appears to believe the same... (chuckle) As does the Denial King, Barack Hussine Owe-bama.
