(Newser) – Turns out, incumbent Democrat Michael Bennet wasn't premature in declaring himself the winner of Colorado's Senate race. After today's counting, there's no way GOP challenger Ken Buck can catch him, reports the AP. With 97% of returns in, he's got a lead of more than 15,000 votes. Buck, however, hasn't conceded yet. The Denver Post called Bennet the winner this morning, pointing out that an automatic recount would kick in only if the margin were about 3,900 votes. The victory prevents Republicans from picking up a seventh seat. Two other Senate races remain up in the air: GOP incumbent Lisa Murkowski leads in Alaska, notes the Anchorage Daily News, and Democratic incumbent Patty Murray leads in Washington state, says the Seattle Times.

just remember, the proof of this "conservative tsunami" is that John McCain won, guys who voted for TARP and Medicare Part D are poised to take the reigns of House leadership, one of the co-author's of "No Child Left Behind" is going to be our next speaker, and folks like O'Donnell, Buck, Miller, and Angle lost.
None were incumbents like the fookin democrats that were unceremoniously kicked to the curb!

Rove is the one who torpedoed the GOP congress by convincing them to sign onto Medicare part D and No Child Left Behind.
I predicted a net gain of 5 to 7 in the Senate. The GOP will have 6. 3 of the 6 are tea partiers (Pennsylvania, Kentucky, Florida). One is a small businessman (Wisconsin). Yes, two are establishment types (Illinios and Ohio). It's a start.
I'm not sure I would consider Rubio and Toomey "tea partiers", yes they had tea party backing but they were also well established politicians (in Toomey's case, making his second run for the Senate). Rubio already argued that the election didn't mean that the public was embracing GOP ideas, and a few months ago he criticized Arizona's immigration law. He strikes me as far too sane and rational to be grouped with the likes of Angle, O'Donnell, Tancredo, Buck, and Paladino.
Thanks for the reminder. That had slipped my mind. My opinion of him went down by 5 to 10 percent.
Rove's busy fighting the last political war he had anything to do with, from 2004. Its not an uncommon mistake in politics, or real war as we all know.

He certainly did NOT say that. He said that the election didn't mean that the public was embracing the GOP. He said this because the GOP ran away from their ideas under Bush.
Actually, he did say this a couple of times JW. Along with what you indicated, which is also 100% on the money. The GOP got stupid as it related to spending under Bush and the GOP House up til the 2006 election cycle.

The irony is the Tea Party exists as much because of THEM as it does this Administration and Congress. I agree, they will be sorry. Fact is, we don't need Trent Lott, the worlds only living spine donor, for anything.
