All the talking is done, today is the voting, tomorrow is the spinning.

FWIW, I voted about 8 AM this morning, there was absolutely no line and I was in and out in 5 minutes. In 2008 I waited a good 20 minutes to vote.

Vote only for the Local Props/sheriffs.

The system itself is structurally antagonistic toward citizen well-being and public interest policy. Congressional legislation will address these only under duress, only where circumstances force this upon it. And legislation will move to rescind any such concession on the parts of the elites the moment circumstances allow.

The Fact that the Dems were given an OVer All Mandate to TOTALLY diss the GOP and did Less Than 0 with that Mandate, tells you everything you need to know. 8D

in virginia we have 3 constitutional amendments on the ballot. the first allows localities rather than the state to set guidelines for property tax exemptions for seniors/disabled, the second allows for property tax exemptions for veterans disabled in the line of duty, the third allows the state to increase the size of its reserve fund.

And of course any and ALL can now tell me about that FAMOUS Grassroots Campaign that placed E Voting Machines across the nation, NO Expense spared.

LMFAO

"But if you must vote on a Direct Recording Electronic (DRE, usually touch-screen) system, and have problems in the process, here is...

What to do if it happens to you:

* Call poll supervisors to observe the problem. * Fill out a problem report. * Refuse to vote on that machine. * Request that the machine be taken out of service. * Get a serial number of the machine if possible (may be difficult in many cases). * Tell other voters in line which machine it was and that they should NOT vote on that machine! * Report it to county/town election office. * Report it to the Secretary of State. * Call local reporters and tell them the story. * Call voter problem hotlines (eg. 866-OUR-VOTE) and report it. * Contact bloggers and Election Integrity websites. * Raise holy hell.

REMINDER: Please bring a video camera/cell phone camera when you go to vote so you can document these problems on video tape.

Today I noticed something I hadn't noticed in the past at the polling stations. They had yellow signs up that said no cell phones were authorized in the room, except for those working the polls.

They didn't have these signs up at the entrance to the building so I suspect there was lax enforcement - I'll guess most voters were in and out in 15 minutes or less.

I'm still asking myself why no cell phones in 2010 in the polls????

Philippines election: Doubts arise over electronic voting machines ... Mar 9, 2010 ... But in tests, the voting machines rejected ballots and failed to connect to the cell phone networks to transmit results. www.csmonitor.com/.../Phi...lectronic-voting-machines

Silver now projects a 60 seat gain for the GOP in the House.

Meanwhile, in badeye's home:

Another Democrat whose results look reasonably robust early on is Ted Strickland, the incumbent governor of Ohio. Below is a side-by-side comparison of his performance this year and Barack Obama's in 2008, when he won the state by 5 points. As you can see, Mr. Strickland is performing well in essentially all of the areas where Barack Obama did, save perhaps for a little bit of weakness in the Cleveland and Cincinnati suburbs, while doing considerably better than Mr. Obama in the southwestern portion of the state. That doesn't necessarily mean that he's going to win, since his turnout won't be as heavy as Mr. Obama's in places like Cleveland. Still, this is the sort of pattern you might expect to see from a Democrat who ekes out a narrow victory in Ohio.
