We have an election in six days that will decide if we want another two years of liberalism, or restoration of divided government as the Founders intended. I'm clearly on record as predicting 70 plus seats gained by the Republican Party in the House, and with it a clear majority there. I'm clearly on record as saying they will pick up the 10 seats required to attain a nominal majority in the Senate. Put up, or shut up. Here's my prediction. The pubbies get the house, and maybe the senate. Then, the pubbies will put on a grand old show! (cue the dogs and ponies). They will pass bills to undo health-care, stimulus, bail-outs yadda yadda yadda, since they know there is not a chance in hell of Obama signing the bills, and the numbers aren't there for a veto override. (They would NEVER pass such bills if they knew there was a chance of them passing). All of those programs WILL continue. The pubbies will claim they really really really want those programs ended, but Obama stands in the way. And if the pubbies EVER get a real chance to do something real about them after a few more election cycles, they will state that these programs are now too ingrained into "The American Way of Life" to do anything about them, and that they have to stay in place. (Social Security ring a bell????) Nothing, other than the widow dressing, will change. The "one party" will have bamboozled the American public yet again, gaining more time to do EXACTLY what it wants, while giving Americans hope that the exact opposite is "true".
