Okay folks, its time to put up or shut up. We have an election in six days that will decide if we want another two years of liberalism, or restoration of divided government as the Founders intended.

I'm clearly on record as predicting 70 plus seats gained by the Republican Party in the House, and with it a clear majority there.

I'm clearly on record as saying they will pick up the 10 seats required to attain a nominal majority in the Senate.

Put up, or shut up.

55 seat gain for the GOP in the house

7 seat gain for the GOP in the Senate

On January 3, 2011 the GOP assumes responsibility for deficit spending.

48 seat gain in the House.

5 to 7 in the Senate (GOP will lose in California, Washington, Connecticut, Delaware, and probably Illinois and Pennsylvania)

9 Governorships + Tancredo, who will win in Colorado. The GOP candidate will get under 5% in Colorado.

Here's how I see the Senate:

The GOP will not lose any seats they hold now.

The GOP will certainly pick up 4 seats: Arkansas, Indiana, North Dakota, and Wisconsin.

The GOP will not pick up California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, or Washington

The GOP could pick up an addition 4 seats in: Illinois, Nevada, Pennsylvania, West Virginia.

I will bet on Nevada, which makes my base 5.

If Illinois is close, it will be stolen from the GOP. Pennsylvania is like fools gold to the GOP (it always look good at first, but then turns out to be nothing). When was the last time West Virgina voted for a Republican Senator? 1958!

I understand where your coming from here. My view would be the same except for one thing.

GOP turnout nationally is going to dwarf Dem turnout. Also, I think the 'undecideds' will break dramatically for the Republicans in almost every single race across the board.

We'll see.

I have decided on thing, however. Anyone in the forum that doesn't have the guts to put themselves 'on the record' here BEFORE the election, isn't worth debating AFTER the election. Figure I'll just filter em.

The GOP will not pick up California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, or Washington

The GOP has at least as good a chance of winning CO as losing.

DE and CN are lost causes. The GOP gave away a sure seat in DE.

CA is beginning to look that way, too.

Slim shot in WA.

The GOP could pick up an addition 4 seats in: Illinois, Nevada, Pennsylvania, West Virginia.

They could easily pick up all 4.

I"m not so sure about the 'prevailing wisdom' related to Delaware, either the 'sure thing' - Castle lost the primary by a large margin - or if its a 'lost cause'.

Delaware's polling data is notoriously inaccurate. Election cycle after election cycle, including this one.

O'Donnell was allegedly DOWN 25% just before the primary for example. She won by 6%.

We'll see what happens.

8 seat gain in the Senate.

My view is that possible range is 4 to 8. There aren't going to get all 8.

Predict outcome next Tuesday

OK. Here's my prediction.

The pubbies get the house, and maybe the senate.

Then, the pubbies will put on a grand old show! (cue the dogs and ponies).

They will pass bills to undo health-care, stimulus, bail-outs yadda yadda yadda, since they know there is not a chance in hell of Obama signing the bills, and the numbers aren't there for a veto override. (They would NEVER pass such bills if they knew there was a chance of them passing).

All of those programs WILL continue. The pubbies will claim they really really really want those programs ended, but Obama stands in the way. And if the pubbies EVER get a real chance to do something real about them after a few more election cycles, they will state that these programs are now too ingrained into "The American Way of Life" to do anything about them, and that they have to stay in place. (Social Security ring a bell????)

Nothing, other than the widow dressing, will change.

The "one party" will have bamboozled the American public yet again, gaining more time to do EXACTLY what it wants, while giving Americans hope that the exact opposite is "true".

How's that for a prediction?

(sneakypete)DID Palin say or write these things or not?

(Mad Dog's reply) I don't know or F ing care.

Pete, MD doesn't know or care what Palin says or writes, he'll support her no matter what.

Well gee golly fuck. Look what I found.

Here it is from one of the neo-con mouthpieces setting it up, Chuckie Krauthammer:

Over the next two years, Republicans will not be able to pass anything of importance to them - such as repealing Obamacare - because of the presidential veto. The direction of the country will be determined in November 2012 when either Obama gets a mandate to finish building his "New Foundation" or the Republicans elect one of their own to repeal it, or what (by then) remains repealable.

NOTHING WILL CHANGE ON NOV 2.

Democrats control 2/3rds of the Federal Government. So much for 'running against the Congress' in 2012. and so much for 'its the GOP's defict now' btw.
