Lexington Herald-Leader LEXINGTON, Ky. Police are seeking the publics help identifying people involved in the assault on liberal activist Lauren Lizabeth Valle, 23, outside the studios of Kentucky Educational Television before a debate Monday night between U.S. Senate candidates Rand Paul Paul and Democrat Jack Conway.
Valle was trying to get close to Paul when she was shoved to the ground by Paul supporters and stomped on.
Valle told officers the men intentionally forced her to the ground and began kicking her in the head, according to a police report. She reported pain in her left temple.
Police spokeswoman Sherelle Roberts said Tuesday that detectives were reviewing videos of the altercation that show two men tackling the activist.
In the video, the men wrestle her to the ground as she is running towards the candidate. One of the men holds her down, and another steps forcefully on her shoulder and head.
