US NORTHCOM Placed on High Alert By Sher Zieve On 4 July, Fox News reports that the US Northern Command (Northcom) in Colorado was placed on high alert. The status is said to be due to North Koreas plans to launch a long-range ballistic missile.
Northern Command, along with the Federal Aviation Administration, has put standby commercial flight restrictions into place over Vandenberg Air Force Base in California and Fort Greely, Alaska, where the U.S. interceptor missiles are based.
