Not a bad thing. I've seen 'ask the moderator threads help with communication, but I could of predicted this first one to be slug fest. Want a suggestion? have an 'ask Stone, anything' thread, retire the old one at 1k posts, and let people start the new ones when the 1k thrush hold is reached. You are going to have to have the open door policy thread for a while before it works like you want it too. But it is a good thing to do. What you see here is pent up frustration because people don't feel like you are listening. Listen and communicate, and you will get something out of it too. You are fishing for compliments? This is a good idea. There you go,but don't press your luck and expect two kudos in the same post.

Oh now Fred, I usually don't miss that these daze. When I started posting in 1995, I was a notoriously horrible speller. Being a long time chatter in mIRC before that didn't help as there is an art to mis-spelling in real time chat. Hey, at least I know the difference between the definitions of then and than. But if I screw up, feel free to ping me to the post. I want to see evidence that I still screw up when using either word.

When I was in the Army, my nicknames were, "Mr. Specific" for offering unwelcome advice constantly to superiors starting with, "Specifically speaking..." and 'Spock,' because verbally I also feed anyone listening to me a diet high in multisyllabic words. Which meant until my mentors whipped me about the head and shoulders, people I was in charge of needed an interpreter to understand me. Depending on smarter peers to recognize the orthographic chunks of the compound words I used to divine their meaning didn't help in getting things done when I was the NCOIC of something. I was also deeply hated whenever I had the misfortune to go to public school as I always had my hand up, and was unapologetic about my high grades.
