Any questions or comments on the forum then feel free to ask me here. Please try to keep the threads on topic. Thank You.
Why do you allow one poster and his cadre of neighborhood activists to hijack this message board and proceed to shut down discussion of topics of interest to conservatives?
They're here all day everyday.
Their primary tactic is to put everyone on the defensive and never, under any circumstances, answer a question with a straight answer.
They treat you and everyone else here who calls them on one of their lies with disrespect and you reward them with the key to the candy store.
Your board, your rules. I just fail to see the wisdom in taking out the trash for one day and then bringing it back inside the house, flies, stench and all.
Yes, but it doesn't answer the question of a why a pack of feral pigs are allowed to turn the place into a wasteland.
That and I don't hide like the four cowards who have put me on filter. Funny how they all in rapid succession followed war's lead.
Don't tell me he isn't the paid Acorn ringleader here.
Just my $0.02, but here's what I've concluded after several years of posting on boards as diverse on the spectrum as the old, defunct TIME politics board and Free Republic:
1. People post on these boards for many different reasons - to pass the time, to have an honest political discussion, to advance their partisan beliefs, to make friends, to feel superior by ridiculing others, or to form cliques like they did in their glory days of HS, etc. Many times they will post something to someone that they would not dream of saying to their face.
2. It's best to periodically step away, lest you begin to take it too seriously.
I try to follow this advice myself from time to time.

Geezus...I've been "outed". BTW, who's bringing the brownies to the next meeting? I forgot to write it down...
[snicker]
And this moron wonders why he's on bozo...
You, I/A, conduct your self honorably here. Ditto jpwegler and calcon. The problem here is that the board has a limited membership so flames can really dominate and overtake a decent discussion. I'm as guilty as anyone for getting sucked into them and I used not to use the bozo all that much. That's changed.
I just hope that Stoney fights the urge to turn this into an echo chamber ala the gopqueefingroom wherein a typical thread is bitching about Hillary or Mud bumping up his vanity thread. They post some good articles there but because of the echo chamber essence of the board they attract little in the way of interesting dialogue.

I don't think that will happen. This is a small board, but it seems both viewpoints are tolerated (mostly).

I can't stand echo chambers, myself - they become boring quickly. That's why I quit posting on FR.
Myself, I've bitched about partisanship, but I think I've come to realize that what I perceive as partisanship in others is not usually how they perceive themselves.
And (**gulp**) I've had to come to the not so happy resolution that others perceive ME as partisan. Can you believe it?
Oh well, in all seriousness, I guess I am - although I don't think of myself as a Republican (and I'm definitely not a Democrat.)
I don't even consider myself a conservative anymore - since that term has become as bastardized as the term liberal. I part ways, for instance, when my conservative "brethren" go RAH RAH for needless and mindless wars (Iraq).
I guess I'm a Pat Buchanan conservative - what is it - a "paleo-con?"
I do love this country - or more accurately, I did. I don't like what it's becoming.
We're very polarized and divided - split evenly down the middle. We've got serious problems - problems that elections are not going to solve.
And all we do is talk past one another.
Sorry to get all serious all of a sudden. BTW, thanks for the kind words.
