Oh now Fred, I usually don't miss that these daze. When I started posting in 1995, I was a notoriously horrible speller. Being a long time chatter in mIRC before that didn't help as there is an art to mis-spelling in real time chat.
Hey, at least I know the difference between the definitions of then and than. But if I screw up, feel free to ping me to the post. I want to see evidence that I still screw up when using either word.
Or say allot instead of a lot. When I was in the Army, my nicknames were, "Mr. Specific" for offering unwelcome advice constantly to superiors starting with, "Specifically speaking..." and 'Spock,' because verbally I also feed anyone listening to me a diet high in multisyllabic words.
Which meant until my mentors whipped me about the head and shoulders, people I was in charge of needed an interpreter to understand me. Depending on smarter peers to recognize the orthographic chunks of the compound words I used to divine their meaning didn't help in getting things done when I was the NCOIC of something.
I was also deeply hated whenever I had the misfortune to go to public school as I always had my hand up, and was unapologetic about my high grades.
