I'm not a witch," Delaware Senate candidate Christine O'Donnell assures voters, who may be concerned that she once "dabbled" in the dark arts, in a new ad released by her campaign on Monday.
"I'm nothing you've heard," O'Donnell continues in the 30-second spot -- the first of the general election -- "I'm you."
The ad features a spare background, quiet piano notes and ODonnell, the GOP candidate who has sparked controversy for her past statements on witchcraft, abstinence and evolution, among other things, speaking directly into the camera.
None of us are perfect, but none of us can be happy with what we see all around us, she says. Politicians who think spending, trading favors and back-room deals are the ways to stay in office. Ill go to Washington and do what youd do.
O'Donnell defeated Rep. Mike Castle, R-Del., to win the Republican Senate nomination and is facing off against Democrat Chris Coons in the general election. Her campaign has gained notoriety from a steady stream of video clips released by television personality Bill Maher, who often featured O'Donnell as a guest on the show he hosted for nearly 10 years, "Politically Incorrect."
In the ad's finale, O'Donnell repeats one of her opening lines: Im you."
Sure she did. She camd across as a normal person. She admitted she isn't perfect. She is fed up with govt spending. She is against backroom deals (lobbyists).
I don't know Stone. She's "me"? I've never been on cable TV shows numerous times. If she's just a "normal jane", how'd she wind up on the Maher's show numerous times? I've never been there once. She's connected somehow.
She's perfect for the one party "controlled opposition" gambit.
(sneakypete)DID Palin say or write these things or not?
(Mad Dog's reply) I don't know or F ing care.
Pete, MD doesn't know or care what Palin says or writes, he'll support her no matter what.

She has run before. But you never know for sure what they will do when they get there. She is the best option in my opinion in that race. But then I never think the D is the right choice.
I believe the polls we are quoting, which just a few days before the primary showed O'Donnell DOWN BY 25, are wildy inaccurate in Delaware.

Of the weekend's new polls, the most talked about involves not next month's general election, but rather this Tuesday's Republican Senate primary in Delaware. The new survey from automated pollster Public Policy Polling (PPP) shows "a real possibility of a major upset," with Tea Party conservative Christine O'Donnell holding a three-point advantage (47% to 44%) over Congressman Mike Castle that falls within the poll's margin of error. PPP says the race is now "too close to call."
