Ahmadinejad Issues Call To “Bury” U.S. Leadership DUBAI, October 3, 2010
Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad stepped up his verbal assault against the United States and Israel by issuing a call to “bury” the U.S. leadership in the wake of military threats from Washington to impair Tehran's nuclear programme.
“May the undertaker bury you, your table and your body, which has soiled the world,” said Mr. Ahamdinejad, using unusually harsh language. Mr. Ahmadinejad made these remarks on Sunday on the outskirts of Tehran in front of crowds which included a large number of armed forces personnel.
A string of U.S. leaders has on regular intervals said all options, including a military option, are on the table to curb Iran's atomic programme.
Mr. Ahmadinejad's remarks follow what the Iranians believe was a cyber-attack by the U.S. or Israel targeting their under-construction Bushehr atomic power plant. On Saturday, Iran's Intelligence Minister Heydar Moslehi said a number of “nuclear spies” had been arrested to counter the “enemy's destructive moves”.
Iran's semi-official Mehr news agency quoted Mr. Moslehi as saying Iran's adversaries had “sent electronic worms through the Internet” to undermine Tehran's nuclear activities. He declared Iran was capable of countering this attack. Iranian officials had earlier acknowledged that the Stuxnet virus had affected the personal computers of some of the officials involved in the Bushehr atomic power project.
