Title: Cornyn Punts On Chance To Defend O'Donnell

National Republican Senatorial Campaign Committee Chairman Sen. John Cornyn told reporters that Delaware's Senate race still does not appear to be competitive for the GOP thanks to Christine O'Donnell. TPM spoke briefly with Cornyn following an event at the National Press Club Thursday, and asked about O'Donnell's recent snafu with her education history and how serious of a problem he deems that to be. Rather than defend her, Cornyn spoke generally. "All of those issues are litigated in every single campaign, obviously being candid and truthful is important, but I don't know enough about the details," Cornyn told TPM. "I'm not stating an opinion on that particular report, I'm just talking generally." Cornyn (R-TX) repeated his line from primary night when O'Donnell defeated Rep. Mike Castle that the NRSC must make "hard decisions about how to allocate resources." "It's no secret that I believed Mike Castle would have won that race handily," Cornyn said. "We will be supporting Christine O'Donnell as appropriate if that race is competitive. Right now it looks like it is not as competitive as other places around the country."

I wonder if he realizes what he just said? He said that O'Donnell was more popular with the Republican voters than the hand-picked RNC candidate,while implying at the same time that she is a crackpot who is out of touch with American voters. My question is that if this is true,what does it say about the RNC and their hand-picked candidate that this woman beat them? RINO Central might want to take a look in the mirror.

Having Bill Maher as a critic is the best thing that could happen to her. If it is true that you are known by who your enemies are,this speaks highly of her.

Nope, Maher has controlled her message for the last few weeks, each week there's some new revelation from her nutty past. Republicans need to make this race a referendum on Democrats to win, she can't do that when she's constantly defending her own lies, fraud, illegal activities, and kookiness.
That must explain why Bill O'Reilly aired a two part interview with Maher this week, he must have wanted to drive away viewers instead of attract them.
I don't think it would help much,but no way in hell does it nullify the Maher condemnation.

We are talking about America,not NY. Republicans vote in Republican primaries. Independents and democrats vote in the general. To win the general you have to pull not only your base, but independents. O'Donnell can't do that, in fact she can't even pull much of her own base.
Sometimes,not always. Some states have open primaries,and the Dims are well known for having voters switch registrations in order to vote for the worse Republican they can find on the ballot in the primaries,and then vote Dim in the general election.

He demonstrated just how fucked up Maher's statements are. The number of false statements Maher threw up, and got flung back in his face was staggering. O'Reilly is the top dog in cable news. He did Maher a favor, and got the beat that hypocrites ass in front of 3 million viewers as an added bonus. Personally, I changed the channel for last nights 2nd segment.
