President Barack Obama signed a bill Monday to provide $42 billion in aid to small businesses, believing it would create more jobs through tax credits, and help banks increase loans.

“It’s going to cut taxes. It’s going to make more loans available for small businesses. It’s a great victory for America’s entrepreneurs,” Obama said

Approved by the Senate with a 61-38 vote last week, saw two republicans break a GOP filibuster by joining the 59 Democrats. The House voted 237-187 on mainly partisan lines to see the bill land on Obama’s desk.

“At this difficult time in our country, it’s essential that we keep up the fight for every job, for every new business, for every opportunity to strengthen this economy,” Obama said.

Some Republicans disagree with the measure.

“Unfortunately, this bill does nothing to help end the uncertainty that is crippling job creation and hurting small businesses,” House Minority Leader John Boehner, R-Ohio, said last week. “Instead it puts taxpayers on the hook for even more bailouts.”

Following the signing ceremony, Obama received praise for getting the measure passed.

“I assure you we would not have this bill without this president,” said Rep. Al Green, D-Texas.

According to a preliminary estimate, the bill would provide tax breaks costing over $12 billion over the course of a decade says the Joint Committee on Taxation.

The Small Business bill encourages small businesses to purchase new equipment, give incentives to venture capital firms to invest in small businesses, and motive entrepreneurs to try a hand at their own business.

Small Businesses Get help

Completely wrong.

Small businesses want to be left alone.

Small businesses don't have the resources to be micro-managed by blithering idiots thousands of miles away in D.C.

Full list of RINO's (3) who voted to help Small Business:

Sens. George Voinovich of Ohio and George LeMieux of Florida, saying small businesses are "starving" for new capital, were the only Republicans to join Democrats on the small-business bill. Rep. Walter Jones of North Carolina was the sole Republican in the House to do so. Other Republicans argue the small-business loans amount to a taxpayer bailout.

Small businesses want to be left alone.

Yes, but the elites in government aren't about to leave them alone, anytime soon. At least they get some tax breaks from this bill, and maybe can get a loan to expand, or pay down debt.

It's a band-aid for the problems caused by an intrusive government.

Small businesses want to be left alone.

Our small business would hire 2-3 people tomorrow if we knew we could get a line of credit to get us through a slow period and not have to lay people off. Our line of credit, like many, disappeared in late 2008.

And the Conservative plan to create jobs is......?????

Apparently voting for tax cuts now makes one a RINO.

They've got a lot of nerve trying to stimulate the economy when a Dem is in power, and just before the elections too! /s

Real Republicans want the country to go down hill so they can get elected, and back into power. It's the two-in-one party fraud's way. Bounce the electorate back and forth like a ping pong ball. All the while the middle class disappears, and we devolve into a banana republic.

Is this true guys?

very true! leave small businesses alone! the new government started at the top with FMae & FMac by regulating their terms of loans, whose loans they need to buy, and who they need to give loans to. FMAE n FMAC ended up with loans from people who could never pay them bc not all factors were considered in giving the loans to begin with. FMae and Fmac had a system designed by mathematicians and financing gurus that knew how to implicate these factors that our gov couldnt. Also, the auto industy has had thousands of expectations, regulations and fees implemented by our government. GM goes from consistently posting profit #'s above a billion quarter after quarter to posting profit losses in the BILLIONS every quarter! Banks and american auto industry imposed on by our gov; both needed a bailout that was necessary for our society to continue to survive. Now the gov. is setting its eyes on small businesses of america!? Im voting NO, leave small biz's alone. This 42 bil $ bill to relieve small biz owners of some taxes and help aspiring and present entrepreneurs maintain, build and purchase businesses. Some of the wealthiest entrepreneurs started out with next to nothing. they started small and slowly built their way up. paying cash for as much as possible and not getting deep in loans and real estate mortgages. loans are helpful. they get you ahead by many years. but if you get too deep in mortgages then you are being risky. with all this $ the gov is giving (that they got from china!) the banks will give to ppl they likely normally would not! not everybody is successful in starting their own businesses these days. not everybody has been successful in the past. the lost their own money or family and friends money...not tax payers $! if so many more ppl can get loans there is a larger capital of $ to be lost to aspiring entrepreneurs who would not have made it that far w/o gov help. $ will be given out and spent but never paid back. USA's debt will continue to rise. More people will ruin their credit. and the government will turn to successful individuals to take care of their debt issues and take care of those individuals who are lower class and lower-middle class. not everybody is cut out for being a business owner but those of us who are and are successful know how we got here, know what it takes to stay profitable in this market, and know that we dont want our government to give us $ that needs to be applied elsewhere. we dont want to be directly tied to any sort of bailout or rescue and we dont want $ we'll have to pay back to be give to individuals who are not cut out for owning and running a business.

ALSO: This whole $42 Billion small biz bill sounds dandy on the surface. but when you consider the consequences of small banks having $ to throw around it doesnt seem that nice. many will likely say, "but the $12 bil in tax breaks will help current biz owners." sure it would help...if that was the only factor playing in on the tax situation. W. implemented tax breaks for corporations and taxpayers in higher tax brackets. the intention of this was to save biz owners $ so that they can have more $ to expand and create jobs..sure, some corporations lined their pockets and their board members pockets with the tax breaks but for the most part it ensured that those who employed most of americas citizens would continue to be able to do so and also expand at the same time, creating jobs. this worked for many businesses. and it didnt work for some businesses...with all of this said-This tax break implemented by W. has a time limit...and its running out! which means that small businesses and corporations that are in the affected brackets will be hit by a 14+ point increase on their taxes. this is not good for the current market...not ready for this. companies will do what they can to ensure that their profits are not hurt! they will eliminate positions. eliminate some other forms of spending that contribute to society and other businesses.. While W's tax breaks are expiring, Obama is implementing these "tax breaks" on small businesses that will, in the end, hurt our economy make our taxes worse. The tax breaks to be implemented do not compare to the tax breaks we are currently working with...
