Armed, but not dangerous. The number of celebs allowed to carry guns is on the rise in NYC, reports the New York Daily News . So, who can pack heat? Marc Anthony, shock jock Howard Stern, Robert De Niro, Donald Trump, and his son, Donald Jr., Mets third baseman David Wright and even Martha Stewart's daughter, radio host Alexis Stewart, are all authorized to carry a concealed weapon in NYC, according to records obtained by the NYDN. (Bernie Madoff's son Andrew was denied a gun permit — not even to keep a firearm in his home.) PHOTOS: Stars who've had brushes with the law Why the need for extra protection? "We have seen an increase in celebs seeking their own permits," John Skylar Chambers — a lawyer who has helped New Yorkers get gun permits for more than 20 years — tells the NYDN. "They can get their own security, but with the Internet, it is much easier to find people. They don't want to find someone on their lawn at 5 in the morning." It's unclear why Anthony wanted the permit. His allows him to carry a loaded weapon in the city, as well as in Nassau County, where he and wife Jennifer Lopez own a $2 million pad, reports the NYDN. (It'll set you back $340 to file an application — it's nonrefundable, by the way — and an additional $94-$106 for a collection of fingerprints. NYDN reports that applicants have to prove that they've been threatened before or have a lot of cash or valuables on them at all times. Well,it's good to know that the mainstream media thinks that stars with guns are armed,but not dangerous. I guess these elitists still think the rest of us remain dangerous. Ahhh,a option that is not available for working class people. NYDN reports that applicants have to prove that they've been threatened before or have a lot of cash or valuables on them at all times. I guess "to save the lives and health of my worthless self and my worthless family" isn't good enough. Good thing you are allowed to protect your large sums of cash,though. After all,nobody wants to lose their cash.
Elites always get 'extra's' especially in liberal havens like NYC.
Let's not forget that people like Di-Fi have CCW permits in NYC,and she and they don't even live in NY. Not to mention Harry Connick Jr. The mayor of NYC even intervened when Connick was arrested by the feds for taking a 9mm presentation pistol given to him by some NYC Dim group aboard a aircraft,and had the federal charges dropped and the pistol returned. Connick is a resident of La,not NY. Yet residents of NY that don't have connections can get one.
With wacko's like this running the streets, it's best to arm yourself, IMO.
