Two Polish neo-Nazis who were childhood sweethearts and later became skinheads have discovered what for them is a shocking family secret: They're actually Jewish. Pawel and Ola, identified only by their first names, are the subject of a CNN documentary about Poles rediscovering their Jewish roots generations after their ancestors hid their religious identities to escape persecution during World War II. A few years ago, Ola found out from Warsaw's Jewish Historical Institute that both she and her husband are technically Jews. "It was unbelievable -- it turned out that we had Jewish roots. It was a shock," she said. At the time, she and Pawel were active in Warsaw's neo-Nazi movement. "I was a nationalist 100 percent. Back then when we were skinheads it was all about white power... that Jews were the biggest plague and the worst evil of this world," Pawel said. Both 33, they've now embraced their Jewish identity and are active in their local orthodox synagogue. "I'm not saying that I don't have regrets but it's not something that I walk around and lash myself over... I feel sorry for those that I beat up," Pawel said. The news can be funny at times. Especially, for instance, when the lamestream media attemps to rewrite history on a failed presidency.

Or about as long as it took 1960s radicals to become war mongering neo-cons. Some people just have extremist brain chemistries. They have go latch onto something (drugs, god, politics, etc) because they need a crutch to make it through life.
Some people do. There is a pretty sizable difference between OCD-"crutches", and focusing and committing to passions pledged to winning life's battles and travails. "Religious zealotry" manifests itself all the time in non-religious manners. For instance in the cause for personal freedom. Liberty. Justice. Defending and protecting one's fellow comrades in arms. Or one's homstead or homeland from invasion. Would you consider Patrick Henry or George Patton "fanatic religious zealots"?

I'm specifically talking about people who can easily swap one all-consuming passion for another: Drugs for god -- a couple of cousins of mine. Radical leftist politics for neo-con war mongering (David Horowitz, Michael Medved, too many others to mention...) Once an extremist, always an extremist.

One person's 'extremism' is an other's devotion. Curse and blessing of sorts depending on the passion. IF I was going to choose such passion in the extreme, in all honesty, having it for the God of the Bible is probably the best.
Niiiice.... In Patton's case...at the time...NOT over the top for me. But apparently for those who knocked him off soon after the war, it was a "vice."
Karl Hess was trying to convey that Goldwater believed in something other than raw political power, which was the only thing Johnson believed in.
