Before America, there were various "native" tribes along with various European powers (British, Spanish, and French) in North America, but no "Mexico".

LOL They were also extremely advanced in plant husbandry, having hybridized the current versions of corn, beans, peppers, squash among others in their floating gardens that stretched for miles.
