“We are not asking you to agree with or approve the moral implications of homosexuality,” said a somber Lady Gaga, dressed in a black suit against a backdrop of an American flag. “We are asking you to do your job: to protect the Constitution.” Gaga called the policy, which bars gays from serving openly in the military and resulted in the discharge of thousands of veterans, “unconstitutional” and “unfairly enforced.” “Senators, when you’re sending our men and women to war, when you’re sending our wives, husbands, sons and daughters into combat, will you honor their service? Will you support repealing this law on Tuesday and pledge to them that no American’s life is more valuable than another?” she said. Gaga then takes her cell phone (at four and a half minutes into the seven minute video) and calls both New York Democratic Sens. Chuck Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand but is not able to get through to either. Schumer’s line rang for over a minute and disconnected. Gillibrand’s voicemail box was full. “I will not stop calling until I reach them to tell them to vote with Sen. Harry Reid to end John McCain’s ‘shameless filibuster,’” she said. Gillibrand has been one of the most outspoken advocates for repealing Don’t Ask Don’t Tell. She later tweeted to Lady Gaga: @ladygaga Thx for calling. I couldn't agree more and am helping lead the fight to repeal DADT. Do you have a moment to talk later today?

Why doesn't she just get it over with? Declare herself to be a "leader" of the Tea Party movement, and announce she's a "mini-me" Palin? Shit.
First of all, why would she align herself with the Tea Party? This, in and of itself, makes no sense -- especially since the Tea Party embraces extremely conservative ideals, and the spoken ideal here was very much a liberal one. Ending DADT is something which conservatives (including many public figures amongst the Tea Party) oppose, not support. Second, why is she a "mini-me Palin"? Simply because she's a female trying to influence politics? Palin was certainly not the first female to stand up to the establishment, and thinking any female who speaks her political mind as being nothing more than a cheap Palin knockoff is insulting to all those who came before Palin -- most of whom had more mental prowess before breakfast than Palin does all week. I certainly respect Lady Gaga for speaking her mind on this subject, and only hope that her message ends up making a difference -- this current era of "separate but equal" needs to end, and she's trying to get her star power (for what it's worth) behind that movement. That's something to be happy about, not cause for insult, in my opinion.
