Sean Hannity squared off against Karl Rove tonight in a discussion about the upset primary victory of tea party candidate Christine ODonnell in Delaware. Hannity was obviously thrilled she had won, Rove argued that shes unelectable. The debate was respectful but reflected deep, heartfelt divisions in the Republican Party. If Rove had just a little more decency, I might have felt for him.
Rove/Hanity is the old good cop/bad cop routine. Hanity's supposed to be the good cop, and Rove the bad one. It's a con game to make the sheeple think that the GOP is getting reformed against their will.
In the end you still get a globalist Republican neo-con candidate, but one with less seniority in the senate. The Tea Partiers all celebrate a great victory against Rove and the "establishment", but it's just more of the same. It's a remake of Newt's CON-tract with America.
O'Donnell the bushbot neo-con is no prize. She'll lose to Coons. The pain of a Democrat congress is just another step toward, either the death of the GOP, or "watering the tree of liberty with the blood of patriots and tyrants".
I'd prefer that the GOP die, but the party hacks are pushing for a revolution, whether they know it or not. The longer they can keep that rotten ship afloat, the bloodier the revolution will be, IMO.
