WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) -- Conservative activist Christine O'Donnell has earned a stunning victory in Delaware's Republican Senate primary. O'Donnell's shocking win over longtime Congressman Mike Castle gives new energy to the tea party movement, which targeted Castle after victories by Republican tea party candidates in the Alaska and Nevada Senate primaries. With 78 percent of precincts reporting, O'Donnell had 54 percent to 46 percent for Castle, a former two-term governor and the longest serving congressman in Delaware history. While attracting enough GOP conservatives to defeat Castle, a leader of Republican moderates in Congress, O'Donnell will have a hard time defeating Democrat Chris Coons in November for the Senate seat vacated by Joe Biden after he was elected vice president.

Nothing new, Rush has been doing it for years.
The Dems were thrilled when Scott Brown was the nominee. When Spector switched. When Jeffords switched. The list is endless actually. Doesn't change the fact GOP turnout is in record numbers in the primaries, nor does it change the dynamic this is about Owe-bama, Pelosi and Reid's failed policies. Its the economy, stupid. And that won't change before November, of this year, or 2012.
Obama's first all-by-his-lonesome budget, btw, calls for a $1.17 trillion deficit.

NRSC Chairman Cornyn’s Statement On Delaware Senate Race (NRSC.org) U.S. Senator John Cornyn (R-TX), Chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC), released the following statement regarding the Delaware Senate race: “Let there be no mistake: The National Republican Senatorial Committee – and I personally as the committee’s chairman – strongly stand by all of our Republican nominees, including Christine O’Donnell in Delaware. “I reached out to Christine this morning, and as I have conveyed to all of our nominees, I offered her my personal congratulations and let her know that she has our support. This support includes a check for $42,000 – the maximum allowable donation that we have provided to all of our nominees – which the NRSC will send to her campaign today. “We remain committed to holding Democrat nominee New Castle County Executive Chris Coons accountable this November, as we inform voters about his record of driving his county to the brink of bankruptcy and supporting his party’s reckless spending policies in Washington. “In the weeks ahead, we will decide where to best allocate additional financial resources among the large number of competitive races at stake this November.
