An affidavit filed by agents with the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) cited a Facebook page registered to Justin Carl Moose, 26, of Concord, North Carolina. Moose allegedly aided a police informant who he believed was set on destroying a Planned Parenthood clinic. According to the documents, he used Facebook to communicate detailed bomb-making instructions. "The Criminal Complaint charges Moose with violating Title 18, United States Code, Section 842(p)(2)(B), Distribution of Information Relating to Explosives, Destructive Devices, and Weapons of Mass Destruction," noted Fox affiliate WCCB in Charlotte. "If convicted, Moose faces up to twenty years in prison and a $250,000.00 fine." On his Facebook page, agents reported, Moose compared himself to terrorist leader Osama bin Laden and made various violent comments about political issues. North Carolina NBC affiliate WECT 6 noted: "Under one of his pictures on Facebook, Moose describes himself as 'whatever you may think about me, you're probably right. Extremist, Radical, Fundamentalist...? Yep! Terrorists...? Well.... I prefer the term 'freedom Fighter'. 'End abortion by any means necessary and at any cost'. 'Save a live, Shoot an abortionist'." “If a mosque is built on ground zero, it will be removed. Oklahoma City style," he wrote, according to the affidavit. "Tim’s not the only man out there that knows how to do it." "I have learned a lot from the muslim terrorists and have no problem using their tactics." Moose had been under investigation since August, after a Planned Parenthood clinic reported his online rhetoric to the FBI. Earlier this month, a planned Parenthood clinic in Madera, California, was attacked with a Molotov cocktail thrown at the building. Police had yet to make an arrest in the case, but openly stated they suspect right-wing extremists were behind the arson. "It's just like any kind of terrorism reports,” one of Moose's neighbors told News 14 Carolina. “You hear about it on the news. You never do associate it with your neighborhood, your friends and stuff." A report issued Friday by the Bipartisan Policy Center's National Security Preparedness Group called domestic terrorism a serious and growing threat to national security. Terror attacks have been planned or carried out in the past year in the United States by "affluent suburban Americans and the progeny of hard-working immigrants... persons of color and Caucasians... women along with men," the report says. "There is no single government agency responsible for identifying radicalization and interdicting recruitment, and it's not clear which agency among the vast array in law enforcement and intelligence should have lead responsibility," report author Bruce Hoffman said. "Terrorists may have found our Achilles heel -- we have no strategy for dealing with this emerging threat."
A man who compared himself to a Christian version of terrorist leader Osama bin Laden was in jail Saturday after being arrested for allegedly helping plot an attack against an abortion provider, according to published reports.
