Well, I knew what it was when I saw it and didn't like it. I got in a really serious fist fight with a man who drew back a bow pointing it at me with no arrow near him. Guess I'm just too sensitive about things, huh? I have had my computer mined and information stolen and have become much more security conscious. And I have gotten more touchy about it. I like you, actually and did not call you to task at the time as that was Stone's job, and for once he did it. In any event, thank you for not using that script anymore.
If you two have a mutual "pet name" thing going on, carry on. Having been married to an African American woman and having a mixed race son, I have had extended in-law family that used the word in a joking manner, so I have no intention of not using it. All the more reason though to refrain from "Mammy" here - the others here use the connotation for a different reason. It's a cheap shot. JMHO.
I do admit tho, I get passionate about some things that are important to me. Sometimes I think the lack of emotion, or passion, makes a person look programmed, robotical...cold, they can't get past the passion, and recognize the message, that's just me I suppose, my nature, I'm not about to change for them, or anyone else, and they can't handle it! &;-)

Actually, I do care. I am born and raised in New England, and if you knew much about the history of those fighting in Concord during that period, you would have known they weren't 'hicks.' Quite the contrary. I took umbrage to that characterization of them, and it told me your knowledge of the War for Independence is superficial at best.
I have had my computer mined and information stolen and have become much more security conscious. And I have gotten more touchy about it. Know the feeling. That's sh*tty stuff. 95% of the posters at ALL forum resent ANY intrusion into our privacy and are MEGA-"touchy" about it. A poster at LP tried pulling the same sh*t and caught far more grief over it. And he was a good poster. Too bad. I once caught my sister's 'friend' in my room going through my drawers back in the day. He wound up getting tossed down three flights of stairs and into the street. He learned what I hope was a valuable lesson.

Compared to the "genteel" society types of New England, Sam Adams, Patrick Henry, etal. were considered "rabble." Or "hicks" these days. They were the muscle of the movement.

People from New England have their attitude about themselves lampooned enough to know that defending my opinion of 18th Century New Englanders as best is a fools errand and will give you that point.

As do I usually. When I first encountered her, I was posting locally with a guy nicked RaisedEyeBrows (REB) who I backed off of her rear when she was Mom_Grandmother on elpee. He saw her as someone who needed to be slam dunked in forum. I convinced him otherwise. That was in a time period most elpeers had no idea REB and I were posting together in the Eugene Media Center. My point to her is to be respectful of other people stuff. She should keep posting and learning. She's not a bad person at all and I appreciate that. I'm still irrtated at her, but actually like her, and will get over it.
I don't remember everything but I do remember her under that name. I liked her IRS posting even though the details are fuzzy to me at this time.
