Personally I have to agree with Jhoffa on this one. I have NOTHING good to say for a nation that disarms its population, abolishes trial by jury and sets survailance cameras over them ala 1984. The United Kingdom is much further along the road to the AntiChrist dictatorship than we are even with Shrubya as President.
The papacy has made colossal fools of untold millions of people down through history, and it is still doing so today.

This wasn't true during World War II, or the Cold War, etc. But on this particular board, it's true too often for it to be worthwhile thinking about. You're not allowed to own guns in Britain. If so, someone forgot to tell this store in my town. People aren't flying the flag out of fear of Muslims. Not even the Prime Minister seems to stop this story dead. I've read people say that my countrymen are degenrate, lost, depraved, perverted, weak, socialist, overtaxed, lax, unwilling to fight. In short, little more than an English-speaking variant of France. Worse, some have used the same exact language as the British left in calling us a poodle of the United States. Worse, some regard flying the St. George's Cross as offensive as the Mexican flag, when it's done in the USA. Facts have failed to alter the situation. Exposure of barefaced lies has changed nothing. They are not removed, and the situation is getting worse over time. There is little incentive for me to hang out on a website where the purpose of a determined minority is to denigrate my home and nothing stops this determined minority from continuing in its activities. Put it another way - would you hang out on a website that constantly allowed insults to your country? Aside from that, I cannot even hang out on the tech threads without some fool referring to anyone who uses Open Source as being in the thrall of Communists. So that's it. Believe what you want to believe about Britain (and Open Source for that matter). After 8 years of trying to bolster relations, it's painfully clear that number 1, I've failed, and number 2, I wasn't destined to succeed. So, farewell.
