United States News Title: Sex Week Line-Up At Brown University Title: Sex Week 2010 Add event to my Brown Google calendar (for Brown undergraduate students)Download event to my desktop calendarAdd event to my Google calendarShare this event on facebookE-mail this event When: Sunday, March 14, 2010 - Sat, March 20, 2010 (all day) Where: > No location for this event This is for events which do not have a location; ie, holidays Description: The Sexual Health Education and Empowerment Council (a.k.a SHEEC) is a student-run council for the promotion of sexual health and wellness on Brown’s campus. From 3/14 to 3/20, it is holding its annual Sex Week as well as a way to bring in more programming centered on sexual health, pleasure, and empowerment to Brown students. The Sex Week 2010 Events are SUNDAY 3/14: Kink/Ethnicity: Documentary & Student Panel 5:00pm @ List 110. Come watch "Kinky," a documentary on race and kink, followed by a panel discussion of the intersection of ethnicity/race and sexuality. Everyone is welcome! MONDAY 3/15: Strap-On 101, 12:00pm @ Sarah Doyle Women's Center Lounge. Learn all about strapping it on! Never used a harness before? That’s fine–we’ll start with the basics. SexAbility Workshop, 5:30pm @ Salomon 202. Sex is hard enough to navigate when one fits society’s notions of a sexual being is. Adding in the concept of ability and disability makes it quite challenge... Come learn! Make It Work Outside the Box: Relationship-Mapping & Communication, 8:30pm @ List 120. Bring paper, pen, and an open mind. Raffle at this event! TUESDAY 3/16: Feminist Pornography (Out For Lunch), 12:00pm @ LGBTQ Resource Center (3rd floor Hillel, at 80 Angell St.) I'll Only Tell a Friend: Learning the Best Ways to Help Someone Who's Been Hurt by Sexual Assault, 7:00pm @ Sarah Doyle Women's Center Lounge Sex & Chocolate in the Dark, 8:00pm @ Crystal Room. Come ready to drink hot chocolate and discuss all things sex. Bring blankets and friends! WEDNESDAY 3/17: Main Green Sex Week Extravaganza! 12-4pm: Bake Sale, Sex Week T-Shirt Sale, Raffle Tickets for Sex Week Gift Baskets, Activities and Much More (Rain loc. TBD) Transgender Inclusion: Demilitarizing the Borderlands of the Binary Gender System, 7:00pm @ Rhode Island Hall Room 108 THURSDAY 3/18: Sex and the MTV Culture: 8:30 in List 120. Sexualized images in the media often tell us, “the less you care about sex, the more powerful you are.” Come talk about what sex means in college and what healthy sexuality could really look like. FRIDAY 3/19: Rebirthing our Joy–Healthy & Happy Sex Lives for All, 4:00pm @ Salomon 003. Everyone is welcome to this class - trauma survivors, friends, lovers, and supporters. Bringing (Safe) Sexy Back, 7:30pm @ Metcalf Auditorium. As if the topic wasn’t tempting enough, we will be raffling off some sex toys--don't miss it! SATURDAY 3/20: Sex Week 2010 Grand Finale! F*cking Fantasies: How To Incorporate All Those Wild Thoughts into Your Play: with Megan Andelloux, 5:00 PM @ Salomon 001 A Night of Sex, Toys, & Cabaret feat. The Wet Spots, 9:00pm @ Salomon 101. The Wet Spots + winners of our Brown Erotica Competition + raffle of ridiculous quantities of sex-goodies. For extra raffle tickets bring cash. Cost: All events are free.
