A 2010 Hurricane Earl projected path appears as if the East Coast of the US will not be spared. The trajectory of Hurricane Earl has created hurricane warnings around North Carolina, and watches up and down the eastern US Seaboard. The storm regained some of the strength it lost, and is a category 4 storm once again. Earl has maximum sustained winds of 135 mph and is moving north northwest at a speed of 17 mph.
Earl is impacting a lot of different things. FEMA has already headed out to the North Carolina coast. Social Security sent out payments early to be proactive incase Earl struck. Airlines are allowing customers to change their tickets free of charge (check with your airline for more details.) In addition, part of the Outer Bank of North Carolina has been evacuated.
The trajectory also threatens Boston. We will see more after the storm makes landfall if it might weaken.
Labor Day weekend is threatened. What many hoped would be the last chance to head out to the beach and enjoy the summer, will likely be spent indoors. Hopefully the storms projected path changes again, missing land.
