Incumbent Lisa Murkowski has conceded to challenger Joe Miller in the Republican primary for U.S. Senate.
Speaking to reporters at her campaign headquarters in Anchorage, Murkowski said "based on where we are right now, I don't see a scenario where the primary will turn out in my favor."
The concession come after a day of counting absentee ballots in which Murkowski gained little ground on Miller, the Fairbanks attorney backed by former Gov. Sarah Palin and the Tea Party Express.
Murkowski trailed Miller by 1,668 votes after last Tuesday primary. Election officials began counting absentee and other outstanding ballots today. Murkowski made slight gains, but as of 6 p.m. was still nearly 1,500 votes behind.
Miller will face Democrat Scott McAdams, the mayor or Sitka.

So Dog, how badly will Miller beat McAdams?
Clinton and Cuomo are the true bandits who lit the fuse to this economic crisis we're now in. All in the name of getting more minorities in houses: http://libertysflame.com/cgi-bin/readart.cgi?ArtNum=12554
The ramifications of Miller's win are astounding. He's about as far-right as can be elected.
Ditto with Angle.
This also shows that the far-right wing of the Republican Party is THE Energized force in the 2010 election cycle.
DAMN THIS IS GREAT NEWS!!!!!

That of course depends on whether or not murkowski runs as an independent.
The turn-out from the left-wing in this primary season has been HORRID.
I think if Murkowski ran as an Independent she's probably end up hurting McAdams more than Miller.
That is how bad things are going for the Dems!!!
AINT. IT. SWEET!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ROTFLMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
No goat, NO it does NOT.
She can't run as an "independent" we have a so called sour grapes LAW that prevents losers in primaries from running as "independents" and the only way she could run is IF another party's guy stepped down and let her take their place.
Does the word "libertarian" ring a bell goat?
And EVEN if she did manage to work THAT, she'd end up coming in THIRD.
Her daddy looked us in the face and told all Alaskans that he was appointing her as his replacement NOT because she was his daughter, BUT because she was the most qualified of the pool.
She's TOAST.
Living in mouth breather's empty noggins 24/7/365 totally rent free!
Palin wins again. She has a remarkable track record, no denying it now.
As for Murkowski, silly silly woman. She picked a fight with Palin over THIS primary two years ago. That country club GOP sense of 'entitlement' cost her big time.
Obama's first all-by-his-lonesome budget, btw, calls for a $1.17 trillion deficit.
You're basing you analysis of democratic prospects based upon GOP primary turnout in States with contested primaries?
...and the 2008 primaries.
In 2008 Democrats had the enormous turn-out at the primaries and Republcians had the depressed turn-out.
Just like it is today, only reversed.
