This thread is to discuss the midterm election that will take place Nov 2, 2010

I think that the Republicans take the house. I think that they will take the Senate or be within 2 seats of Majority.

I predict Rand Paul to win.

I predict Miller from Alaska to win.

I predict Mike Turner to win.

Reid will lose.

Rubio will win.

Pelosi will win.

They can't take the Senate without booting out both Patty Murray in Washington and Barbara Boxer in California.

Here's the situation in Washington:

Murray and Dino Rossi are essentially tied in the polls.

Murray has significantly more money than Rossi and is running constant commercials (even on Fox News) both positive (she favors R & D tax breaks) and negative (Rossi has been raising money from D.C. lobbyists). Rossi's one add is not effective.

Rossi is a two time gubernatorial loser.

Rossi's main primary challenger (football star Clink Didier has refused to endorse Rossi).

Seattle is kooky leftist. East of the mountains is mostly conservative. The question comes down to how people are doing in the Seattle suburbs (where Microsoft and Boeing live).

The economy here is still pretty good. Our housing market didn't crash and burn like it did in so many other places. The unemployment rate is lower than in many other places.

However, Microsoft had their first ever layoffs last year(more than 5,000). Boeing announced lay offs of about 10,000. The layoffs in both companies were spread across the world, not just here.

It's going to be a squeaker. Given the corruption in King County, Murray will probably win by a few hundred votes.

Tied going into election day will produce a Republican winner election night.

Bet on it. GOP turn out will dwarf the Dems this cycle.

Given the corruption in King County I am betting against it. Just watch.

King county, Washington? I can't speak to the alleged corruption there, but elsewhere a tie will break in the favor of the GOP on election day.

I find it rather amusing how you continue to throw out these grand pronouncements without backing them up with any evidence or detailed analysis at all. It's truly breathtaking.

Conversely, I find it amusing you don't know this historically accurate comment is just that, historically accurate.

You'll see on November 3rd.
