Both of these are "No shit" predictions.

I predict Miller from Alaska to win.

Doubt it, given he won't be the nominee. Murkowski will cheat her way back in.

Reid will lose.

Won't that be a great day to see someone that far-right defeat Reid and sit in his seat???

Oh what a great day that will be.

I provided my "me culpa" in the thread where I posted Miller was the official nominee.

Don't hold your breath if you think I"ll give another culpa on each and every thread.

I don't have any predictions to make at this point in time. My sensing the past year has been that incumbents are at risk, regardless of party. People are fed up with the same old crowd, same old wars, same old depression, etc.

The media is trying to point things in favor of Pubbies in general, because Obama's hope and change stuff is already at a dead end.

The fact that many folks think Palin is a possible candidate in 2012 scares the bejeesusz (sp) out of me. Since the world is supposed to end in December 2012, her inauguration in Jan 2013 won't happen.

I predict that the Las Vegas casinos are not about to lose their influence in the Senate. Reid will win bigtime. Of course the little minds here will somehow construe that as me supporting him.

He made a pretty nasty remark for a poster who generally seems to have such a poor grasp of history and it was way out of line for the topic. Typical trollish behavior of winning at all costs.

Lets see who you support. Do you want Angle to win?

I prefer to vote informed and I don't know enough about her, so probably would stay home. I believe the Pubbies need to offer viable alternatives and I don't see her as one from my limited perspective. I do know what runs that state though and it's not the Bible thumpers.

So are posters allowed to make predictions not based on emotional hysteria in your world?

I think that they will take the Senate or be within 2 seats of Majority.

They can't take the Senate without booting out both Patty Murray in Washington and Barbara Boxer in California.

Here's the situation in Washington:

Murray and Dino Rossi are essentially tied in the polls.

Murray has significantly more money than Rossi and is running constant commercials (even on Fox News) both positive (she favors R & D tax breaks) and negative (Rossi has been raising money from D.C. lobbyists). Rossi's one add is not effective.

Rossi is a two time gubernatorial loser.

Rossi's main primary challenger (football star Clink Didier has refused to endorse Rossi).

Seattle is kooky leftist. East of the mountains is mostly conservative. The question comes down to how people are doing in the Seattle suburbs (where Microsoft and Boeing live).

The economy here is still pretty good. Our housing market didn't crash and burn like it did in so many other places. The unemployment rate is lower than in many other places.

However, Microsoft had their first ever layoffs last year(more than 5,000). Boeing announced lay offs of about 10,000. The layoffs in both companies were spread across the world, not just here.

It's going to be a squeaker. Given the corruption in King County, Murray will probably win by a few hundred votes.

The state is run by the gambling interests. If Angle wins it's only by their permission and then watch her flip. I still can't see them hanging Reid out to dry since they worked so hard to get him the position.

The question comes down to how people are doing in the Seattle suburbs (where Microsoft and Boeing live).

Since this is the era of Chicago-style politics, maybe the question will come down to how many are buried in Seattle cemetaries.

And how many of them can be persuaded to vote democrat.

maybe the question will come down to how many are buried in Seattle cemetaries.

Here in Seattle is different. They keep recounting the ballots until the Democrat wins.

When Rossi ran for governor in 2004, over 2.8 million votes were cast. After the initial vote count, Rossi led Democrat Christine Gregoire by 261 votes. After the second count, Rossi led by 42 votes. After the third count, Gregoire took a 129 vote lead and won.

Why did they do three counts instead of 2? Because the Democrat was still losing. Why did they stop at 3 and not do 4? Because the Democrat was winning.

They like to lose military ballots prior to the first count. They like to "discover" previously uncounted ballots (in heavily Democratic areas) after the first count.

If Rossi and Murray are tied in the polls, Rossi will lose.
